...rear tire on the road and what did you do? I did a search for this subject but didn't find anything.

If it is just a puncture, keep a can of 'seal n air' or fixaflat on board. Anything larger than a puncture, keep your AAA dues paid.

I carry 2 tire puncture kits with me and a pump.

the first kit is one of those "T" handled tools with the gummy strips... It works well, and get me back on the road quickly

The other kit is a smaller one designed with the pointy tip for the front MC tire...

ANd Oh yes... a portable air pump, with battery connecctions

Thanks for the info, guys! I do carry a tire repair kit and a can of Fix A Flat. I believe I'll get another can to be safe.

Spend a few dollars on a fix a flat kit. At the least carry a plug kit and a small electric pump.

I bought but wont use the Slime in my tires. The pump that comes in the kit works well is small and compact.

I carry the small Slime compressor & a few rope plugs & glue, have not used them in years.

Had a flat on the front running at 65 mph. Flat repair tools didn't help, the tire broke down on the inside by the time I stopped. First time I used AMA towing insurance, but they paid 100%.

    Cannot stress strongly enough that:

    1. Fix-a-Flat is about the worst thing to put in a tire there is. What a mess and almost impossible to clean.

    2. Prevention is the key here, so there is no flat! That would be http://www.ride-on.com/

Have used this product for years with no ill effects. If properly dispensed, per instructions, it stays in the tire. Even if some inadvertently gets where it shouldn't, it cleans up with water!

    It also balances the tire.

"We do not recommend the use of Ride-On in 2009, 2010, 2012, and Newer Honda Gold Wings and certain KTM 1190 and 1290 Adventures as the sensors on those bikes are not potted (hermetically sealed)!"

Deputy, we are on the same page with Ride On, some say, "what a mess", not so, washes away with water, environmentally friendly, go to the web site, lots of good information for those that might be interested. No I don't own any part of Ride On except the product. Great tire insurance on the road, worth it's weight if you need it.

Slow flats and blowouts. I've had them both. I recommend avoiding the blowouts. Never crashed, but a hell of a ride. I carry insert repair kit, repair-in-a-can and electric inflator. Interestingly, when I got my first trike almost 7 years ago, I got extended warranty AND tire insurance. Would you believe I haven't gotten a flat on 2 or 3 wheelers since then?

For those of you who do not Religeously check tire pressure, I recomend a TPMS.

Some tire failures are due to underinflated tires.

A TPMS should warn you about a leaking tire before it goes flat or fails!

I have used the Doran system (it works well)....I now use a Zumo 395lm with built in TPM

Back when on 2 wheels I ordered a Slime compressor for "just in case" to go along with my rope plug stuff. When I got it I put it in my saddlebag and the next day had to use it. I don't usually get that lucky.

    Default Flat on the road!

Just to lighten the conversation >> Flat tire, so I got all my fixer up stuff ready. Couldn't find the reason for the flat until I touched the valve stem. Next move was a flat bed........... Just another time when I thought I had all the bases covered!

Hockey, that was the reason for my front flat. Honda shop replaced a tire for me, using their valve stem that wasn't "nutted". I now carry a *good* valve stem with me. In that instance, my Ride-On didn't help.

So can you change out a valve stem on the road? I never re-use valve stems, that time I didn't ask and they didn't change the valve stem! Lesson learned..........

    At age 87, I don't do flats!

That's what the roadside insurance from GWRRA is for - and it's the best there is!
