My sister in law bought that shirt for me after she saw it.
Dogs got up at their usual time, wanted out and to be fed. Di did the honors for them.
I got up at my usual time of 6:45, no alarm clock.
Went out and grabbed some coffee, turned on the morning news.
Wow. It's Monday morning! I should be getting ready.....
Wait a minute. Ready for what? I don't have to get ready for work!!!
I gotta get a list of "things to do" so I don't flounder around all day in a fog. Lord knows there's stuff to do around here. Better get organized.
Hmmmm, coffee tastes especially good, think I'll make some more and contemplate things.
This is nice, no schedule to keep, no "deadlines" to meet.
Well, got lots of loose strings to tie up with closing the business. Lots of "shredding" of old, outdated and un-needed documents, etc. etc. May need a dumpster! It's gonna keep us busy for some time!
Hmmmm. Coffee tastes good this morning!
This is definitely strange and different!

#1 thing to remember about retirement is ' I can do that tomorrow '.
2.5 months into retirement for me and I could not be happier about it. My wife and I have really enjoyed being able to do as much or as little as we feel like whenever we feel like it. I like that the week only has Saturday's and Sunday's any more. Once the ice is off the lake we'll have to figure out if it's trike riding day or a pontoon cruise kind of day.
I retired over 16 years ago... And i'm thinking of going back to work, This way i can retire again and get the newly retired feeling back again...

I am working on my 7th year of retirement, I think the first 3 months of retirement I was still getting up at 4 in the morning and that is without alarm going off, soon settled in now around 6 or 7 in the morning. I'm enjoying it more and more everyday since I put in 37 years, long time.
All for now Trampas
My first day of retirement was 2/1/2016.
I was used to it when I left work on 1/29/16. Wish I could have done it sooner.

I also love retirement :
I retired at 55 years old Dad taught me how to save for the future, (thanks dad) I then went into my own heating and plumbing business for 10 more years, and after 24 hours a day 7 days a week service for 10+ years straight , I decided to sell my business, and love my everyday off.... I have no idea what day it is nor do I care....
I'm 66 years old now and will never work again...............
Folks if you never do a thing again in your life, PLEASE PUT AWAY MONEY INTO A IRA OR 401k
for your retirement, you will be happy you did....watch your money grow (what a wonderful feeling)

I have been retired for 20 and can't find anything wrong with it. and yes when I first retired I got up a 4 am for months then I got to staying up watching tv late did not get up until 8 am then I have leveled out at 7 am. ( for the ones just getting ready to retire the one thing you need to know, get all the work done before you retire be cause after you retire the is no time to work)
It's been 7 years for me.
Lovin' every minute of it too.
In 7 years, 3 months and 3 days I'll be heading into retirement.

Young people seldom listen. You can teach them anything, they will listen intently, they want to learn. But not when it comes to lifes lessons its always going to be different for them. I was never a big saver but had some money put away. Cancer knocked on my door one day and that changed plenty. Out of work for 9 months takes its toll. I worked in pa so no disability insurance. People say you're a fool to touch your retirement money. You'll take the money from wherever you can if you need it. I was in the bank one day and the guy started tellin me about long term investments. Sometimes you just have laugh.
Three years retired for us..went thru the up at 0300 for the first now between 6 an 7. Love the fact do what and when we want, try to ride everyday just so I have a reason to grin . Everyone at work said oh you'll be back you'll get bored doing nothing. Little do they know right!
