I have no problem with shorts and water shoes. Your legs will still get hit with stones, bugs etc. just beware. My lower leggings are removed. Don't like them at all.
A question for you guys that have traveled distances on your trike. I have owned my trike for 3 years now but have not taken it on any long trips as I still love my 2 wheeler, but this year I plan to take my trike.
I have always ridden the 2 wheeler with protective jacket, heavy duty long pants, and boots. When you guys ride do you guys gear up? I will be riding in some warm areas and was thinking that shorts and t-shirt would probably be more comfortable. I know that this is a personal issue, but in the riding I have done on the trike I do feel more safe.
Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me; I want people to know 'why' I look this way.
I've traveled a long way, and some of the roads weren't paved.

I gear up all the time....My legs aren't pretty enough to leave out in the open naked for the world to see...And at times its been also recommended that i should use a full face helmet to hide my face......But i don't just for spite...

I do wear helmet, gloves, riding boots, jeans & long sleeves. that's in the summer. I know the correct thing is wear all gear for safety, but when hot it is hard to do.
I sunburn easy so I do cover up some.
Be sure to slather on the sunscreen - skin cancer is no picnic...
For me it is all about mood and conditions that dictate the level of risk I'm willing to take at the time. Beware and be prepared. Relaxed comfort makes everyone happy.

Boots, jeans, leather or mesh jacket, gloves, modular helmet.
Every now and then we'll ride without gear...it is definitely more comfortable, but not something we make a habit of.
