Awesome! Congrats to your wife on her new ride and to you for your new riding partner and family!!! That's an amazing way to keep the family together and share experiences you couldn't get in a car!
After wrangling around with the idea for several months, my wife painstakingly researched, then came to me with the idea that she wanted a Can Am Spyder RT. First off, you could've blown me over with a feather, because she NEVER liked the idea of motorcycles. I've owned one for nearly our entire 20 years of marriage, and she only rode with me once...until I bought my Tri Glide...then she would ride with me any time we could get a baby sitter. Which wasn't very often since both of our children are special needs. One especially so, and very few people are willing to tackle the responsibility, and the ones that are willing cost DEAR.
Back to being blown over like a feather...she came to me with the idea and seemed afraid because the one she picked was so expensive. I told her we would go with the RT Limited, which was the most expensive roadster Can Am sold. I wanted her to be happy with the purchase, because I wanted her to ride...and ride...and ride.
Well, after a couple of months we finally bought one. She got her motorcycle permit the day before we purchased (on her first try I might add). She hadn't ridden any type of motorcycle her whole life, except a scooter about 30 years before. She jumped right on the Spyder and rode it the whole 20 miles home after the papers were signed. I was SO proud!!
Skip ahead about one month, and on Thursday of last week, she went for the drivers license portion of her test, and AGAIN passed her first time out!! I jumped for joy, because she could now take riders. That evening, we all went out for the first time as a family. She took our oldest daughter, who is special needs, but has no physical problems, and I took our youngest, who has severe epilepsy. We've got my trike rigged so that she is trapped into the passenger seat by armrests and my driver's backrest.
We took a 20 mile ride to my mom and dad's house to show them Michele's new bike. They loved it. We then decided to take the curvy back roads in a roundabout way home. This was about a 30 mile ride which ended at a Mexican restaurant a couple of miles from the house.
I'm just SO SO happy that we can ride together as a family any time we want to now!! The last time I was this happy with any purchase was when we bought our camper.
Here is a picture of all of us at my mom and dad's. Dad was kind enough to take the pic.

What a great story, loved reading it. Good looking RT Roadster by the way, good on you for the purchase, something the entire family can enjoy.
I am so happy for you and your family. I am also impressed with your wife's determination to get her license quickly so your family can get out together.

If you lend someone $20 and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.
Now you just have to make room for the family pets

Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave in a well-preserved body, but to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting...Holy Sh!t What a ride!
