    Default TTS tuner

The old adage is find out what your tuner likes to run, well I found out, TTS, this is what he likes and from reports I have heard he is a good dyno guy. He gave me some ideas which I won't explain here but with what he said it would really wake up my trike. Plan on going down later and talk to him in person and maybe make a decision then.

He also said they have a power vision there that he could load a map for me which would be $200 for the map and they would download it for me, I just wouldn't own the power vision, just the map, not thrilled about that at all, what is your take on this???

Ok, why I will not explain what he said, he was saying so much about different products I can't remember them all, I know a stage one air cleaner, a 2-1-2 head pipe to get rid of cat, and he mention different muffler brands.

It sounds like you have done your homework, I think I would talk to him and make my decision face to face.

My dyno guy uses power vision so that is what I went with and I run all my upgrades as far as motor work through him.

I don't think you can go wrong either way.

For a little over $400 you can get a PowerVision and they will download a map that matches your A/C, pipes, mufflers etc. Then you will have it to make auto tune runs and change the map if you do something like add a cam. There are tons of maps available.

I had a TTS on my 12 Road Glide ,had no issues with it.My son and I bought a multi bike Power Vision tuner and we downloaded a supplied map from Fuel Moto into his 15 Road Glide and another map into my 16 Tri Glide. His Road Glide has ran perfectly.I only had my 16 Tri from April till sept until trading fro a 17,but in that time it ran flawless.

Trampas, is he going to able to dyno tune it or street tune it (VTune)?

I have a TTS tuner on my Tri and we have to street tune it since I don't have anyone local with a dyno.

It's kind of a "techy" tuner (and I'm not technical).

They are great tuners in the right hands and so is Powervision. It seems like Powervision may be a little better suited for the average guy, but I would buy the whole module setup, not just a license.

NHBAGGER he would be able to tune it since they have a trike dyno, not sure I want to pay for the TTS tuner and then have him tune it on the dyno which I'm not sure what price that would be. Like I said I just talked to him on the phone and plan on going down and talk to him in person and get more info. I don't have a lap top, just a home pc so I guess I would have to buy a lap top so I could drive it and tune it from what I have seen so far, and I'm not a technical person but from what I have heard and read this is a good tuner, same person that built the screaming eagle race tuner for harley and now it is banned.

So many choices on tuners, was looking at FP3 and power vision with me leaning toward the power vision which looks simple enough even for me and FP3 is even more simple.

It is getting more and more complicated which way to go, leave it stock in the lean state from harley and take my chances or get a tuner so it will run better, at 69 I don't need this kind of headache, have plenty other headaches going on LOL

Trampas, you wouldn't need a laptop, just a Windows based PC. (won't work on a Mac). You can take it off the trike and hook it up inside the house to make any changes you need to do. I used mine without any computer for a year. Just had them put in a tune to match my equipment when I bought it and did some auto tune runs to tweak it.

I just bought the Target Tune module and have put the wide band sensors on the trike. Fuel Moto sent me a Target Tune enabled map to match the trike. I did buy a laptop (my home computer is a Mac) so I could install the new map when I change the sensors over.

BillR, I thought you needed the laptop on the bike when driving it to tune it, I might be wrong, but using the Vtune doesn't it have to be on bike, laptop I mean when driving it to get the best tune, from what I have read people was strapping it to sissy bar, putting in saddlebag etc etc.

I haven't heard of putting the laptop on the bike while running down the road. I'm just learning how to talk to it using a computer.

Dynojet Research has a lot of videos on YouTube about the PowerVision, each covering a small segment or operation. Here is one to start with. It mentions that you don't need a computer.

With TTS, some people are attaching a monitor to see the table changes. You do no need to do that for Vtuning, it just helps.

If you do not plan a lot of changes, just go with the PV and the license for $200. The dyno guy should be able to dial it in.

Or you could buy the PV unit and attempt to tune yourself. I do believe it is simpler than TTS.

Yeah, many years ago, before the Power Vision, and way before the FP3, we would use the TTS with a laptop, riding around.

Nowdays that is not necessary, the Power Vision has its' own screen and the FP3 uses your Smartphone screen.

This is a good LINK, that should help simplify a choice in tuners.

Dyno tunes, especially for Stage I upgrades, are rapidly becoming a thing of the past. The auto-tune feature on the Power Vision and FP3 are very easy to use, AND will give as good, or better, tune than the majority of guys running dynos. PLUS, it is much less expensive. Even if you get the 1 in 100 guy that is a good dyno tuner, he also has be be having a good day...then you will get just a little better tune than the auto-tune for your extra $250-$600.
