new lvl3 2017/motortrike

I am back. I had a 2009 lvl1 back in 2009. Initially I put over 17K miles with a towpac kit until I could afford a DFT kit in 2012.

In Jan 2013, due to a pressing medical issue, I made the worst kind of decision you can make. 3 cars were slowing down on a two lane road. I tried to pass them then found out the first car was turning left into a driveway I had never seen used in many years of traveling on that road. My front tire left a 45 ft skid mark. No marks from the rear tires. I hit the car just behind the left front tire, I went thru my windshield, over the hood of the car and landed in the dirt (ATGATT). Nothing broken, but my glasses cut my face just above the left eyebrow. Just needed a few stitches (3/4 Arai helmet).

On the anniversary of the accident in Jan 2014, I went to the Harley dealer (they are open on Sundays). On Monday I test rode the Tri-Glide and bought it. 16k miles and a lot of money later, I just traded it in for a new 2017 lvl3 with Motortrike Adventure. I ordered some what I call essential accessories. Utopia Backrest (bad back). Cruise pegs by Kury, and the ABS integration kit for the MT Adventure kit. I will have to wait awhile before I can add the nice to have accessories.

The new Trike should be ready by May 13th.

In the meantime, I am needing to confirm a few more Essential add ons. Need advice. Yeh or neh

1) Fork Brace by Traxxion (had it on my 2009)

2) Bellypan (had one on my 2009)

Any thing else I should consider as ESSENTIAL?

Welcome Back Robert! Glad to hear you survived the accident and are now back on a GL1800.

I have both the fork brace and belly pan on my 2015 so that should tell you how I feel about them. For must haves, I'd recommend also adding Baker Trike and Hand Wing for air management/comfort and a good set of fog lights with AMBER protective lenses for visibility. I've owned at least one GL1800 since April 2001 (sometimes two at a time) and have had the AMBER fog lights on each one. If you have never seen them, you'd be amazed how they improve your being seen.
