Mine does that once in a while. I just spray a contact cleaner into the push buttons, work them vigorously for a few minutes, then all is well. It would probably be better if I sprayed some silicone lube into them also, but I forget...
I have a 2006 Goldwing and the cruse control won't set. It will turn on but I can not get it to set. I read a post sometime back that said something about pushing the clutch or brake handles forward. I got it to set once but when I released the lever it went off. I think everything is ok with the electrical but maybe I need to adjust the cables. Any ideas? Thanks

There is a micro switch in both the clutch and brake levers. The switches are easy to remove. The tiny contact points may need to be cleaned off gently with a spray cleaner such as QD Electronic Cleaner made by CRC.
Check the rear brake switch also.

Thanks for the replies I will give it a try
All the micro switches can be replaced for about $20-$30 each ... if you find a bad one it's cheap and easy to replace.
