On my VW trike I adjust my brakes every spring just before the riding season
I know my adjusters are worn.
I need to replace the block with the adjuster on them but I cant find just that. So I have to buy the complete backing plate with the adjusters.
Just have not forked out the $$ to do that yet
Thank you
Bob
I thought most had self adjusting rear brakes. ?????
I'm confused...More so than normal , What kind of trike is the OP talking about.

if u have rear VW brakes there is a wedge that works up when u use the parking brake that is your adjustment for the shoes

With most drum brake trikes the "auto adjuster" doesn't work very well in my experience. I recommend manually adjusting the brakes as they wear in. If you are adjusting them & they're slacking off after a hundred miles I'd take a closer look at the adjuster star & retainer spring for wear. May be the internal components are worn & no longer "holding" the adjustment.
Selfadjusting rear brakes that is an oxymorron, In order for them to work properly ALL the components need to be clean and or replaced, lubed only when specified, and constantly maintained and adjusted. Use the parking brake when u stop, and keep it lubed and adjusted
