    For those thinking about the extended lever. If your trike has the parking brake pedal by the floor board, with the 8.5 inch lever, the peg ends up directly above the pedal. If you set the lever too low it kinda gets in the way of getting to the pedal.

    I was thinking, if I wanted to get rid of the heel shift, I think I would just take the peg off and leave the lever there to keep my boot off the primary. (Oh, this was said in post #41.)

    Who says you can't teach an old dog ... after reading more posts I decided to re-install the heel shifter lever. I've removed it on my other 2-wheel Harleys (4) over the years and never had an issue with finding neutral. When the engine isn't up to normal temp., a soft tap of the heel shifter finds neutral like magic! When the engine is hot, as in it's 105 degrees in Las Vegas and I'm riding in stop and go traffic, the heel shifter isn't much good - yet. I ordered and extended heel lever and will try it again. (The stock levers don't leave enough room on the boards for my size 13 boats.)[/QUOTE]

    ??? What can I say. I have absolutely no problem with mine and I have the lever as low as it will go. I barely have to lift my heal to use it.

    I have the extended floor boards. Maybe that helps?

    If you decide to take the heel shifter off....I put a spacer on the inside of the spline and moved the front shifter to the outside position. So now with that added to the extended shift peg it's real easy to get to and shift - jc

    Never thought I would get used to up shifting with the heel of my foot. It didn't take long to get used to. Would not be without one now.

    Never leave home with out it

    I almost hacked 1 on my Streetbob, but NAH traded it for my 15 Freewheeler that I rode 4 a year and traded it for my 17M8 that is 1 year old and 14k miles of upshifting with my heel

    I have never really used heel shifters. A couple of weeks ago I took off the heel shifter on my 2015 Triglide, and replaced it with the chrome shaft cover. I found it also gave me more space to move my foot on the floor board.
