J&S Trike Jack

Received my J&S Trike jack the other day, and decided to try it out today.

Took me a little while to get it set up correctly under the trike so it wasn't touching the left side exhaust, and that it wasn't pushed too far in or pulled too far out.

Finally started raising it after about 15 minutes of positioning.

To say it was scary would be an understatement.

It was a real pucker factor of 10.

The jack performed flawlessly, and the trike was very sturdy.

I checked my rear shock bolts, and the lower right one was really loose so I torqued it to specifications, and checked every bolt I could get to.

Hopefully it will get easier to use the jack as time goes by.

Do any of you use the jack, and if so any hints or recommendations for use ?

As for the jack it is made really well, and does what J&S says.

I have had mine for about year now. I don't think you ever get rid the pucker factor when your lifting. More you practice with the positioning the easier it gets. Takes me least than an minute to position the jack. Position the jack along the back wheel and slide it, you should be in the sweet spot. The only draw. back for me; I wish the bottom supports were a 1/2" higher so when I rolled it around it would not hit the high spots in my garage. Overall, its a great jacket.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah I think it will just take a while before I'm really comfortable lifting the trike.

All I could think about was how much it was going to screw up the trike if it fell off the lift.

I have the same issue with mine when the trike is on the lift,hitting the high spots.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah I think it will just take a while before I'm really comfortable lifting the trike.

The more you use it ... the easier it is to find the sweet spot. Almost every trike I have had on my J&S jack required rotating the cross-over muffler clamp. Once that clamp nut is out of the way it is easy to get in position. I added a pin (couple bucks at John Deere Dealer) to my handle to make moving it around easier.

I love my J & S jack, just bought it last year, you will get used to it, even my 2 wheel jacks I'm careful when jacking up and the trike jack is no different, I had to move a clamp as HDBOB said and that helped out alot

All the above for me too. I had to get a new cable right after I bought it. The end connection broke. Then while trying to fix the upper section so it will come down easier the whole upper section came apart. That was a bitch to reassemble. The upper section is still hard to slide back down. It takes me about 5 minutes to get it centered. It's a real tight fit between the exhaust and the belt.

Once centered it works great.
