Love Jugs Mighty Mite Comments / Installation Review

I'm new to Harley Davidson having been in the BMW and Ducati world for almost forty years. I did make a couple of excursions into weirdness, briefly, with the purchase of a Can Am and later a Slingshot (WAPOS). So far I've had a 2016 Freewheeler, a 2015 Road King, And a 2016 Low Rider S. Recently I bought a 2017 Tri Glide.

Early on, I was convinced of the need for auxiliary cooling and bought Wards Werks products. I found these fans to work well and have had no issues with them.

Lurking on this forum led me to look at Love Jugs for my Tri Glide and I decided to buy a set of Mighty Mites because I like their appearance. What follows is my comparison of the Love Jugs vs the Wards Werks product.

My Mighty Mites were delivered promptly but the rubber switch cover was torn. I rummaged through decades of washers, screws, fasteners, fishing lures, and etc. and found a pack of rubber switch covers that I had bought from Amazon. Of course, the switch cover was a perfect match and the repair was effected in seconds.

That would not have been possible with the Wards Werks product as it is not amenable to end user repairs. It appears that the Mighty Mites are designed for end user repair and that should serve me/us well if a problem arises later. The replacement vibration damper that is provided is more substantial than the OEM part. The concealed brace for the horn bracket is another included upgrade.

The fans were pre-wired for the Harley accessory plug that is located in the right side panel. I used that connection and the fans are now connected to switched power. (2017 Tri Glide) FYI, if one needs to connect another accessory to that plug there is a "splitter", HD part # 70264-94A. I may connect the fans to one of the aux switches located on the right side of the dash sometime later on. At this time I use the fans continuously.

It appears that these fans are superior to the Wards Werks product and I'll buy another pair when i get my next Road King.

On another note I'm very pleased with the HD CoolFlow fan. Its primary function is to move air away from the rider's legs and it does the job well. I suspect that it also provides a bit of additional engine cooling.

Sorry for the torn rubber switch cover, this is the first time I have heard of one being torn, but we do have replacement parts available that can be quickly shipped out when needed. To their credit, Love Jugs has gone the extra mile to insure that all of their products are built to a high level of quality and are easily serviceable by the end user.

I also have the Love Jugs on my 17 Tri,after talking to several people who sell and install them they recommended the cool masters on the 107,since my bike is black i got the gloss black ones and they really blend in,This winter I will have the horn cover black powder coated and this will help conceal them even more.Like you I preferred the looks of the Mighty Mites,but when with the larger ones.I am very happy with them.
