Not a shortage but prices going up IMO

Anyone concerned about a gas shortage as a result of refinery and pipeline shutdowns?

Big price increase is a given, not just you, the holiday weekend, plus the possible pipeline shut down to mid Atlantic states gives me pause. I'm looking forward to MV, but I'm really having second thoughts now; there's just no way I want to spend the big bucks to do MV, then there not be enough fuel to do the rides.
I have been in Maggie Valley since July 15. Regular gas prices just increased recently to about $2.25 per gallon for cash and $2.30 per gallon for credit.
I have not noticed any shortages or any waiting for gas purchases.
For some strange reason, many of the gas stations are "having problems" with their card readers so pack some cash.
Good info, but I'm really talking about my concern for a future shortage as a result of the Huston catastrophe. I'm aware that is not foreseeable, just getting from newscasts about the pipeline shutdown supplying the east coast area, perhaps creating shortages. Not an alarmist, jus sayin....
Being from San Antonio, Tx area: From what I seen the refineries are not under water yet. When this tropical storm comes back for a possible second try, that may be different. Most of the refineries are in Corpus Christi not Houston. But there is two things that get started up right away. That is opening the Airport and starting the refineries. Prices increasing is just the usually gouging of the citizens of United States as usual by the oil companies.

Last year the Shell Station was out of gas for 3+ days while we here there. No problem, we just went to the other end of town where there are multiple gas stations.
You also know how oil companies work, they try to take advantage of anything to drive up prices.
Instead of riding the trike to MV this year, I'm driving my truck and hauling the trike in a trailer. The truck is new so have no idea what to expect for MGPs.....I'm hoping for 10 mpg for a trip which is 1000 miles each way....OUCH....
Last year was I think because of the pipeline break which would be more of a direct and immediate interuption to Maggie Valley.Like was said only 1 or 2 stations ran out and we got by just fine.I wouldn't be concerned about it this close to the storm happening.
Do not argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and beat you with experience.
