Ours is a 09' my signature line tell about the modifications, Boyesen intake DynoJet Power Vision Tuner screaming Eagle slip ons. I always add 104+ at fill ups. Poor fuel will make it run poorly. Keep he rpms up above 2500 will also make a difference in performance. Kevin from DK Customs has done entire write up about the 103HO triglides check out his website or PM him he is a great guy to work with. Good luck they will run fairly well if tuned properly. travel safely Fred

I also have a 2015 Tri-Glide. I did a full Stage 1 upgrade including Screamin' Eagle air cleaner, Vance & Hines Power Duals headers (which eliminates the cats and reduces heat), and V&H Twin Slash cut slip-ons. And a factory download to re-tune the engine. Since doing this, I have learned of 3 dealers in my general area that can now dyno tune a trike. But mine runs just fine with the download so I'm rather hesitant to spend another $700 for a tuner and 4 hours of dyno time.

The performance increase was substantial. Very noticeable in the low to mid-range.

I have a 2016 and did a stage one, Fullsac headers, pro race tuner, reinhart slipons.

    Runs great for me.

Installed Fuel Moto Jackpot Slip-ons, Cold Air intake and had it dyno tuned. Very happy with the results. Really wakes up the 103 on the low end (as v4bob49 stated).

2016 with S&S decatted head pipe, vied 10 @ 65% & DK external breather. Rest is stock. I like the way it runs for what I have spent on it. IF I ever win the lottery, I will do more (not holding my breath on that)!

It says that it "Does not fit Trike models". Did your dealer install it anyway?

Dealer called Harley and they said it would fit.And it did. If it will not fit on you bike the dealers comp will not take on you bike. The parts book says all but the trike. That's when we called and they told my ser man do it!

2015 TG ..... Stage One including FuelMoto stainless 2-1-2 (ceramic coated) , FM conversion AC, FM E-Series with 14 plates open, DynoJet PowerVision and Target Tune.

Sounds great, much less passenger heat and it woke the 103 up..

There is a lot of interesting info in the two charts below-

The first chart is of a M8 Trike with a Performance Stage I

The second chart is of a Twin Cooled Twin Cam with a Performance Plus Stage I

(Note: the Twin Cam with the Performance Plus Stage I will be very close in power to a HD Stage IV)

Of particular note in the two charts is that the M8 has more low RPM torque...being at 97 ft. lbs at 2500 RPM, while the Twin Cam is at about 87 ft. lbs at the same 2500 RPM

While this may not seem like a lot...look at the torque curves, the M8 is very linear in the lower RPMS, where the Twin Cam is obviously not comfortable until right before 3000 RPM.

What is interesting about the M8 (and some M8 owners have complained about it) is that it peaks at less than 3500 RPM and then drops at a pretty quick rate after that....leaving just a tiny section of the RPM band where it is at top felt power (torque).

The Twin Cam hits close to top felt power at about 3200 RPM and stays there until about 4100 RPM. This give a large range of the RPM band where top felt power is experienced.

Net result is that when riding, it does not feel like the power builds and then all of a sudden drops off (like the M8), instead you feel it building...then it stays with you for a good while before more slowly dropping off. So that is a benefit of the Twin Cam.

The benefit of the M8 is that you have far more usable power down lower in the RPM band...translated into daily riding, this means that at 55-60 mph in 6th gear, you can nail the throttle on the M8 and have good passing power, whereas on the Twin Cam, you would need to downshift to 5th to get the same acceleration.

    Two more things to note-

    1. The Twin Cam chart has peak torque of 105 ft. lbs, staying above 100 for quite a while. The M8 has peak torque of 100 ft. lbs, and only just briefly.

The M8, with a Performance Plus Stage I will also hit 105 ft. lbs of torque, but it will not stay above 100 for as long as the Twin Cam. (but the other side of the coin is that it will have Much More lower RPM torque than the Twin Cam)

    2. Unless you are racing, the horsepower #'s mean close to nothing. Torque is what we feel in our daily riding...torque is what is important. (unless you are racing and regularly running 4000 rpm and up)

    M8 Chart-

    Twin Cam Chart-

    I went to DK Customs

    Never looked back

Kevin has the Dyno sheets to show how my M 8 did, now I put fishtail drags on with hom made baffles and splitters, IMO it gained a bit more

I had to lower my idle. I changed the fuel trim to under 14 and have more power and mpg is still @ 44.7
