Kevin. I received the e-mail sent by DK. You gave some dealerships that install the trike lifts. Does that mean that they actually sell and have in stock the lift kits? or should I purchase the lift directly from DK? Thanks Jerry

Hi Jerry,

Just saw this, everyone else is gone. I don't know how to get into the dealer list. If you email back and ask them, on Monday they will be able to let you know which dealers on the list are stocking dealers.

We have dealerships that stock, other dealerships that order as needed, and still other dealerships that install, but want the Customer to supply the part.

If you wanted to order it from us, any of them will install it if you bring it in to them...but the stocking dealers would probably rather that you bought it from them.

Thanks Kevin. One of the dealers that is on your list as installers is about 45 minutes from me. I could call there tomorrow and ask them if they stock the lift kits or not. If they don't, I'll order the lift kit on Monday. Thanks for your reply. Jerry

Hey 520fd you will like the lift kit. And by the way the J & S trike jack won't help you install a lift kit, the rear needs to be free floating so to speak, I guess you could use it jack it up and then put jack stands under the trunk frame member, most just use a regular floor jack to get it up and set the stands.

Oh well, looks like you are having a dealer do it so you are good to go, enjoy the lift when installed, I love mine and know quite a few in this area that have them and they liked them alot

Sounds like you should buy a Convertible Comfort Lift™ Kit and carry it it for them to install. Then they will see that there are ones that work with the '17-ups.

Same dealer for me. I drive right by a much closer dealer because ... (insert one of many reasons here). The Coralville dealer has been nice to me. I may visit them for a lift install.

It came from "trikestuff" ?? Bright red in color. Had a lot of holes on the end that the shock mounted to. Looks to me like a weak point with all those holes.

Well, I Put a DK lift kit on my 2016 tri glide have driven over 5K miles so far.....one of the BEST things I've done for the comfort and handling of the trike!!!! Really! You wouldn't think raising the butt up an 1 1/2" would make that much difference = It certainly does! (and no more draggin' the pipes going into driveways or gas stations either)

....got kit on Amazon (its just 2 each metal plates).

Why wouldn't Harley void the warranty for installing a lift kit. It wasn't on the bike when new, It changes the geometry of the bike.

In my opinion Harley has every right to void the warranty

He said,I'm not sure they did,they told me IF they tried to warranty it that Harley would kick it back for more information or send a rep to check it out.

The absence of any foreign object getting between the belt and pulley would indicate a faulty belt of faulty adjustment.

When installing the lift kit it MAY be necessary to re-adjust the drive belt.

Since a lift kit changes the swingarm angle and this would allow the belt to become loose, just as weight of rider and passenger will tighten the belt.

When a loose belt slips, there go the teeth.

It usually happens between shifting gears when you unload and load the belt rapidly on downshift.

Welcome to Trike Talk ' depending upon what part broke they can void the warranty' The adjustment would be belt tension .���� that said I put 45,000 miles with a lift kit on my 2011 Triglide and never adjusted the belt ��

I too have the lift kit on my 2017 Tri Glide and have bought the Harley belt tension tool to verify and be able to refute any baloney that the lift kit would cause a belt failure because I measure it at each service interval and record it as being within spec

Works fine on mine! No issues at all. You can pick your shock angle.

This bike had 2400 miles on it,wouldn't consider this an item that should be replaced at such low mileage.Considering HD recommends belt replacement at the 50,000 mile service.

I agree. 2400 miles is ridiculous considering that the only one I know of being changed was my own at well over 100.000 miles and then more for looks than anything. There were no teeth missing but the outside was getting weather checked. I suspect there is more to the story - like maybe the belt wasn't properly adjusted after the lift kit was added. As someone else noted, if a toothed belt slips it's curtains.
