    Arrow Stallion Trike Mods

Please use this thread to post modifications you have done to your Stallion:

Please post pictures of your custom paint jobs, electrical switches that you added that show good locations, suspension modifications, Lights, Exc...

I would like this thread to be a clearing house of modification information for Stallion owners.

If you purchased new light bulbs for your fog lights or head lights that were brighter than the stock bulbs what was the model number that you had to size it up to? I find this information is difficult to get. And that is one change I want to make.

Hi, I installed (2) 12 volt power outlets. One on the dash part of the hood and the other on the dash below the hood area. Both are on the left side. One just to the left of the instrument panel there is a spot you can drill a hole thru to mount the outlet and below that to the left of the wheel is other spot. Both are wide open from the back in the engine compartment. I wired both grounds to different bolts on the left hood latch. The hood latches are good ground. Now the hot side I ran the wires to a power block that you will find on the left side of the engine compartment about 8 inches down and look down just by the airfilter on the dash side of the airfilter. There are (2) bolts/posts sticking up and they both are hot. I put the wire with lugs over the posts and put another nut on the post to secure it.

Please make sure you have an in line fuse in your power leads.

Also make sure you run your wiring along the areas where it will not be crimped for the upper power outlet that is in the hood part.

Is you follow the wiring harness you should be okay.

The lower one went straight to the attachment points. I hope this helps.

Kippy, you've been doing a lot! Is there anyone you know who could show you how, or would post the pictures for you? We'd all like to see what you've done.

A general question. I have talked with our auto parts places here but they look at me very puzzled when I ask them for wax remover. Does anyone have any suggestions for cleaning the stallion surface before applying 3M tape to it? I know there is a product out there its just a matter of finding it. I sure don’t want this to move once it is attached. Thanks

I use alcohol and it seems to work fine. Another tip, when applying

the 3M tape there is a product from 3M called adhesion promoter.

You can get it in small pads similar to medical gauze or you can get a promoter pen. The pen is the cheapest way to go.

    Here's a link:Item # 4298-1/2 oz. Pen, 4298 Adhesion Promoter - 1/2 oz. Primer Pen on Bond Pro

    Mattel,
What have you discovered on the headlamps? My brother has used the type bulb ,but increased the wattage to 100.He says its better but still not as bright as he'd like. The new lamps from TBS are not compatible with our stallions.Have a safe Daytona

    3togo,

I have the original headlamps that are the new HID style. They only replaced my bulbs and the wire harness when my shocks were replaced, as they were mushed my the tire and did not work. They are bright but the problem that I have is when I ride tight mountain roads I find they are focused just a little too low, and I have a hard time seeing far enough ahead with my low beams. I find the driving lights take up some of the light between the high and low, but I cannot ride at night in the mountains without my driving lights. I asked for them to adjust the lows up a tad, and I have not had a chance to check on how they do, and I may not get a chance for a few more months.

I have seen some people put fork lights on, and they can be adjusted up and down and switched on and off as conditions dictate, but I don't like the way they break up the sleek look.

I am about to install some LED's in the side vents in front of the wheels, but, I am just trying to get some light on the side of the bike to be seen better at night.

Mattel, Tell me more about your headlight swap out. Did your dealer do it? I gather it was a matter of bulb changing along with the wiring harness? Strange I have complained about the dim lights and was told they would let me know if a resolution came along. When did this occur? What is your last 3 of the vin? Now even more important. You say you had the shocks replaced? Was that front or rear and why? How many miles on the drive train?

Back to the lights do you know if we can get what they installed on the after market?

    Thanks for the input.

I wanted my driving lights to remain on all the time. I wanted to keep the factory type connectors to make the modification.
I found some of the same type connectors called Delphi connectors on line and made the mod. I have them wired so that they come on when the ignition is turned on.

    Fortsand,

I love your led's can you take a close up of the leds unlit? Love the Cheese Wagon in the background, is that your other mode of transportation? At least it was not a short bus!!!!

I found some great sealed clear led lit marine switches at a local marine supply house. I will try to get a picture of it this weekend. It only requires a 1/4" hole, and it is very clean looking. It lites up white when it is off and the panel lights are on, and red when it is on. I am going to use it to turn on my led's that I am going to use for accents on the front chrome and in the passenger area.

Were you able to find a switched power source? I am assuming there is one on the heater control panel that comes on when you turn the lights on. What did you use?

    Timgala,
My vin is 313 (lucky 13). The front shocks were replaced by the dealer, they sat too low and moved too much. They just put the same lights back in.

No, I am not kin to the bus, it just happened to be sitting in the empty parking lot.
I have a fuse tap on #5 fuse under the seat. This slot has a 30 amp fuse from the factory but it is not used for anything. It also is powered when the ignition is switched on. I use this to trigger my relay for my fuseblock under the hood. I have a different fuse block coming from this site www.fuzeblocks.com. It incorporates the relay, so it will cut down on my wiring.

Thanks Mattel, I'll be looking for the switch. Besides the pic. if you get make and model of it GREAT.

FORTSAND nice lights and thanks for the info on keeping the driving lights on. We put them on all the time now and to have them come on auto with the running light will be great. Thanks Ted

I installed some super bright led's that function with the brake lights.
They modulate several times when the brakes are applied, then go steady. They are from Hyperlites Flashing LED Motorcycle brake lights, Running Lights and Turn Signal Also, you will notice I tossed the original muffler. It is a lot quieter now.

I was not aware that video could be posted, but I uploaded a clip
to photobucket so I guess it is good to go. This is a short clip
of my lights and horn and also check out the exhaust.

Amazing, I can't believe it worked.

Please provide as much information as you have available on the muffler switch out, such as make, model, etc. From your video is sounds almost as quiet as as a Gold Wing. I'd also be interested in an approx cost to switch it out.

    Thanks.

The local Top Gun muffler did the job. I don't know the brand of
muffler, but it is a standard oval shaped 15" car muffler. The job was $175.
