Was following a Slingshot up a three lane (center lane marked as turn lane or passing lane in spots) and for whatever reason, he was going 5-7 mph under limit. Car rolled up behind me quickly in a stretch where it was a passing zone for us NBs that ended within view at which point it meats a no pass buffer zone leading into a stretch that is passing for SB traffic. Car slowed a hair, then dropped over into passing zone to pass me fast. As he passed me, here come a SB car in their passing zone … still a good ways out, but not so far as to offer good distance, and suddenly it became real obvious that the driver passing me only saw the Slingshot as he passed me, he could not cut back in so quickly as he estimated. I hit brakes, let him in and as I pulled into my favorite BP gas station a few miles later, there he was. He recognized my vehicle I rekon, came over and apologized for cutting in short explain that he had no idea that "thing" (his term) was in front of my pickup.

Im sorry but if people would slow down and respect each other we wouldnt have these kind of incidents.

I drive the Hwy system daily and it still amazes me what people do just to get one car ahead.

JMO.

Thank you for sharing this as maybe it will get some to be more respectful out there.

Back in the 50's '60's and out by me in Jersey in to the 70's....There were a lot of 3 lane roads and the middle lane was a passing lane for traffic going either way......

They were called suicide lanes......My Aunt was killed passing on one in Long Island , It was a head-on 1959.......
