Tour Pack relocators

Just put the relocators on. They really look good and give the BOSS some more room. She said it will take some getting used to. The next project is to get vacation time to come to Maggie Valley. A quick question, how big a bag and how much weight do you REALLY put on the tour pack rack? I am not really sure, at this time, that I want a trailer. We are redoing our kitchen and I don't want to spend the extra dollars....yet.

Funny you should ask about weight on a tour pack. I weighed my bag when I got back from Trike boat cruise 2 weeks ago. It was 63 lbs. I also had my wifes walker on top of that. Just for good measure I also used tie-down racheting straps. Going from passenger hand grip bars up over whole shebang and down to chrome bumper that I added. Only had to go 86 miles each way, but I have done distances before.
Tried to upload some pics of loaded trike but the internet sucks in hotel I am in. Will try again at next hotel.

Label in the top (inside) of my tour pak says 25# max! These things are very expensive and very flimsy. Mine is cracked just forward of the front hinge and I just had it fixed and painted and it came right back. The guy said up front he could not guarantee it. Any ideas on how I can fix this?

You could find some fiberglass cloth and resin (marine store?) and repair/reinforce it from the inside. Hard to tell without any pictures. Or you could get the larger 50 dollar H-D tourpak hinges and go from there. Good luck!

Last trip (10 days) wife and I took we has small carry-on sized bags that fit in the trunk. We tend to pack pretty lightly with the thought that there is usually a Wal Mart somewhere on the destination if we need anything. We don't ride 2 up, so we do have more space than usual. Friends that trike with us have a trailer and pack enough for 1/2 the Chinese Army, never understood the need for that many clothes. We have once or twice stopped and Fed-X'd dirty clothes and souvenirs home.

Boom it has been repaired with fiberglass on the inside but didn't hold. I did not know HD had larger hinges will check on them, thanks a bunch.

Now here's the way to totally overpack.
Note the orange straps are more to keep it from swaying or jumping on bumps (which helps protect tourpac lid)...Kids, don't try this at home. I am a professional psycho and used to pack the same way on 2-wheels. 3 makes it childs play now.

Holy Cow Bozo!!! You never cease to amaze me. First you convert your Trike into a snowmobile to ride in the snow!!, then you convert it back into an 18 wheeler!! Did you have to pull into ports of entry to get weighed? !!! Haha!!! Prob woulda broke the scales!! Anyway, good packing job. You win again!!
