HWY 136 and Bone Cave Rd on Sunday...

Mitzie and I left Samples Family Restaurant in the "Downtown Inner City of Estill Springs" on the Gold Wing Trike havin' no idea where We were headed. After simply riding around in the "back-country twisties" we found Ourselves up on Hwy 30 outside McMinnville...a quick turn onto Bone Cave Road, then over to HWY 136 outside Rock Island State Park, and it was off to near the Kentucky Border via twisty 136. This Route took us up to Livingston, Tn, then we used HWY 111 to zip back down to Cookeville, Tn to Chedders for a late lunch (Chedders Thread with Pics in the General Forum). This Route also takes You through Standing Stone State Park...Here are a few Pics from Sunday.....



















...and since some Folks complain I'm rarely in the Pics (...there are very valid reasons for this)...skuuter on the Scenic Overlook Platform at Standing Stone...



A shortened Version of this Ride looks to be a TENNESSEE TOI CHAPTER "Picnic Ride" in the future...if You would like to duplicate this Ride, drag out a map and use this order...Hwy 127, 108, 127, 30, Bone Cave Rd, Post Office Rd, Rock Island Park, 136, Standing Stone Park, 52, 111...You will enjoy it.....

Skuuter. we ride 127, 30, 111, 68 all the time. Coming from here, we will usually take 30, 127, 30 then on to 111 heading to Cookville. It seems as if I have seen the Bone Cave Road sign, but not sure where. Am I heading in the wrong direction? Should I just omit 111, do 30, 127 and then Bone Cave. I'm getting turned around somewhere!LOL

Run over to Dayton from Your end (various ways), then pick up 30 to Pikeville...30 past Fall Creek Falls, Right on Bone Cave Road, Left on Post Office Road, Cross over 111 to 136 through Rock Island Park....follow 136 all the way through Cookeville, then on up to Standing Stone State Park (GREAT RIDE...!!!)...Hwy 52 back out to 111.......111 will actually take You from Chattanooga to the edge of Kentucky (intersects/ends on 127...Left into Kentucky, Right into Jamestown, Crossville, etc.).....136 is a Great Ride and will actually get You to Kentucky also...it is the "Original Tennessee/Kentucky Highway".....Yep, need to get Ya'll down on this end sometime.....

Yea. We have taken 127 all the way to Russellville, KY. That is a beautiful ride, other than going through Crossville area. Ron and I usually go 30 from Dayton, but sometimes we will take 111 out of Chatt town. We were up at Spencer a few weeks via 30, so bet that is when I saw the Bone Cave Road. We will swing around that way next time. How about 279 or 285 ?? off 30? It looks like it will make a circle back to 30? Looked interesting as we pased by the sign.

279 and 285 are narrow-n-twisty-n-fun....285 will intersect with Bone Cave Road at one spot.....
