I've got an 08 Royal Star tour Deluxe and have been thinking real hard on trikeing it out. Who makes a kit for them, and do any of them have a reverse for there kits ?

Not sure about a TD, Hannigan does an RSV Kit. There is a reverse kit out there but from what I hear it's a 1,000 option ! Too pricey for me so I never did any investigation as to who makes it.
Hannigan makes a kit for the Tour Deluxe. It is very similar to the RSV with the exception of no truck. On the TD kit, there is storage space instead of a trunk. I have the 09 RSV and the kit rides beautifully. I learned on the TD trike kit, and it handles differently than the RSV at slow speeds. Otherwise, they are basically the same kit.
If you check my photo album there is a album called trike assembly. This will give you an idea what's involved. Even though it's a venture the TD is exactly the same as for the mechanics are concern. Again, the trunk is the difference which is replaced with storage space. I believe a helmet can be stored in that space.

Hannigan Motorsports is no longer producing the upper storage insert and top-cover for the RSV conversions. Therefore, the TD conversion is no longer available or sold.
However, there are some that have ordered and installed the RSV conversion on the TD model. The kit bolts right up and fits as it should to HMS standard without issue. One must install a Top-Box/Tour-Pack to the kit in order to properly cap it off. That is a requirement and those parts required are not provided by Hannigan. Obvously the OEM unit works, fits, functions and looks the best by far. The cost to do such is not cheap or even reasonable (IMO) so is prohibitive to some potential owners. It can be done but adds on average 2-3 G's to the overall cost and can be time consuming to locate and procure the proper components.
There you have the skinny and best of luck to you and all.
Well its a good place to start. Thank you all for the help. Triwings makes one as well now I found out also. Reverse seems to be out and seems like very few even want one. Now all I have to do it get the cash up and do it
You could have a nice vinyl cover made with maybe some chrome snap covers around the edge of the opening. Then if you had to get in there you could alot easier. plus if you didn't get the spare gas tank you could use that space for some storage. Just a thought. I have a hannigan kit and it gives me the smoothest right ever. Longer a wider then I believe any other trike out there. And boy do I get the looks! They have great looking chrome wheels new this year.
