It all depends on what or if Harley Davidson has done anything to the area where the hitch bolts up to. The easiest way to deal with the harness is to get one like what Rivco RIVCO Products, Inc.*::*Electrical & Lighting*::*Plug-In Trailering Wire Harness for Harley-Davidsons makes and then install the male or female end onto the end of the harness.

Something to keep in mind, Gross vehicle weight (load capacity) of a Tri-Glide is 1700 pounds. Wet weight is 1191 pounds. That leaves about 500 pounds capacity for you, passenger, and anything else. We have members here where Mommy and Daddy are pushing that weight limit, not counting the trailer and all the goodies in it. (I being one of them) Probably one of the reasons Harley will question the warranty when there is a hitch bolted on.
Good Luck
