Well its snowing today and cold in Colorado....
Would like to know if I need to use any precautionary measures for the VW 1600 DP engine for cold start-ups?
Next week in the 70's again
Thanks
Joe

I know squat about VW's (other that turning the big key on the back to make it run). Maybe a plug in oil warmer dipstick would be a good idea in your neck of the woods.
Thanks,
Ran VWs in Michigan many years and as long as the choke was adjusted right they ran good.
Never had a problem with The Blue Trike, a Trike Shop V-cycle Runabout as long as the oil wasn't too thick, the battery was strong and things like the valves and carb were adjusted correctly. I also converted from an automatic choke to a manual.
