Hey Chris, Glad to have you on board with us. Like Katfish says, don't worry about "flak" from others. Chances are they've never ridden on a trike and don't know what they're missing. Just get out there and ride that baby and have fun. Jump right in here and if we can do anything for you, let us know...

Hello everyone, my name is John and I live near Cleveland, OH. I've been riding motorcycles for 40+ yrs. and got my first trike in April '07;I had a Road Smith conversion installed on my '06 Gold Wing. I've had 1 1500 G.W. 3 1800's and 7 Harley Ultra Classics. I love the power and smoothness of the Wings but for comfort, I prefer the Harley's. The knees aren't what they used to be and the leg forward position of the Harley works best for me (the wife prefers the Wing). I just took delivery of an '09 Harley Tri Glide so the Wing will be going up for sale as soon as I take the wife on one more trip.
A big ol' Howdy right back at you John and welcome!

It's easy for us Harley guys to relate to your problem. A Harley is something you WANT to ride for all your own reasons and those who don't understand probably never will.

We do however, understand the Winger's affection for their choices. If luxurious smoothness is the priority, they've certainlly made the right choice and I'll proudly ride with them.

So what happens when the hubby is a Harley affecionado and the love of his life wants the Wings smooth ride? Sorry, can't help you with that one.

Good luck and see you down the road.
Dave
Those voices in my head may not be real, but they have some really good ideas.
Welcome aboard John. We are a very friendly bunch. Good luck with the Tri-Glide. I think you will love it. Ted

Saw a lot of young guys / Gals riding trike this year at Americade . I even saw a Habusa trike and a few chopper style. Your friends will stop laughing when you hit bad roads or bad rain or when you leave them on a twisty road (and you will ) Welcone on board. We need to see pictures of the trike. YES WE DO.
In Milwaukee area this past weekend I rode behind a guy in his 20s on a CanAm Spyder reverse trike. Boy was he having fun! I hadn't seen one on the road before and it was fun for me to follow and watch. He realized another trike was behind him and dropped back at a stoplight to say hello and give me a thumbs up. I think people of all ages are starting to recognize the positives and appreciate trikes. There are enough varieties available now to suit every individual's likes and needs!

Hello Chris and John. Welcome from Alabama.
Chris, I had a Volusia several years ago. My bride sometimes wonders why I sold it? I kept hearing voices saying: Buy a Harley, Buy a Harley:yes:

welcome john.
what ever you ride is unimportant. what is important is THAT you ride!
i'm fairly short, so, the leg position on our wing is ok for me. i'd love to ride one of the tri-glides just for grins
anyway, join right in, and send us some pictures.
dave
Welcome aboard! I used to ride a 2-wheeled Suzuki Intruder, now I'm on a Honda VTX1300 trike, and loving every minute of it. Enjoy the riding and the friendly or not-so-friendly commentary won't make a difference.

(Raises hand from the back of the room) Um, I can help there-
I have the Harley, She has the 'Wing. If it gets to the point that I can't hold up the 2 wheeler, it will become a trike. Now Gloria has decided she likes the back seat, so it's my Harley, our trike. The GW is a very nice long-distance platform, and pulls our Bunkhouse like it's not even back there.
Having both is like having 2 kids - they are different, but you love them both.
