Default Motorcycle Cruise to the Caribbean

I have put together a video of our recent motorcycle cruise on Explorer of the Seas. It was an excellent ride, though a little wet in St. Maarten. What a blast. On your own bike in the Caribbean aboard a cruise ship. I highly recommend it. The video is at . We had 24 bikes total, 5 Spyders, lots of Harleys, some Hondas, a few others, and my Harley trike. Enjoy.

Great video!! Thanks so much for sharing!

Very interesting how the bikes are stored inside the ship!

What a way to do a trip. Wife has always pushed me to take a cruise, now this may be the way to go!
    Thanks,
    Dennis

I have said that I'd like to take the cycle just once. Well....we have decided that perhaps once isn't enough. We love to cruise on the ships, but adding the cycles was just over the top!

Great video John! We've seen the ETA group a couple times on the Explorer of the Seas, but we never got this inside view. Thank you so much for sharing!

You are quite welcome. I had lots of questions myself, so I tried to include a few things that answered those. We were issued crew badges so we could go down to the bikes anytime we wanted, to clean, polish, or just put things into or out of the bike storage to prepare for the next ride.

You are welcome. One of the highlights each day was dinner. We all sat together, which was about 40-50 of us. It was a great time to debrief and share the interesting things that happened that day. I learned to know so many new friends.

I didn't even know you could take your bike on a cruise ship! We've cruised several times and wished we had our own transportation. PM details of how this is done please, cost, arrangements, etc., etc., etc.!!!!!!

I did it 2 years ago and best cruise ever. I plan on trying again next year. Not cheap, but not horrible either. Costs can be found at ETA Travels web site. Just do a search. They are very upfront about all costs. Ships leave from multiple locations on east coast between NJ and FL.
keep in mind its the bar tab on the ship that gets you.
Also, keep in mind anything wider than a TriGlide may not fit on ramp into boat. If you can get on a 5' wide trailer, then you will fit on boat.

It does have a way of getting in your blood. We are looking into going again on one of the Celebrity's out of Fort Lauderdale, perhaps in 2016.

I originally thought this was a great idea. But, what if you were involved in an accident? Even one that wasn't your fault. You know, with a skam artist, and your bike is impounded in a foreign country? All of a sudden a great cruise starts looking like a not so good idea. Could be a problem. Might get expensive. Am I overly concerned?

My wife and I took out first cruise this spring. We had a great time but it would have been even better if we had the trike with us. I don't think the Stallion would ever fit on the ship from what was posted above. The ideal of Caribbean and take the trike sounds great! Thanks for putting another ideal in my head.

I seem to recall separate insurance included in cost for travel down there. You are actually riding as a group around each island. Not on your own. There is a police escort also usually up front. Sometimes as little as one officer. On Puerto Rico, enough cops to make a Blues Brother movie. Blocking all roads for us. Also filming happening from back of pickup. Very safe. Doesn't mean you don't still have to be careful skill wise. Some roads not great and twisty. Could be sand parking sometimes.
