Yes sireee, signed the paper work today. Delivery first week of Jan 2010. A 2008 GW with the works. Audio, Comfort, Navi, ABS, Airbag, with a CSC kit loaded with just about all they offer including full ABS. We started talking to the dealer last month when they gave us a price of $37,000. After looking around the internet, told them they were way over priced. CSC came out with their "stimulus" package, $1,000 off, and free light bar. That discount was split 50-50 dealer and CSC. Long story short. We hammered away and came up with a price of $33,500.

Can't wait to see it all together. They brought the technician that will build the trike in to speak to me about the kit. We went over things and he suggested some things I hadn't considered.

So now some questions. Any suggestions right away? Anything I should have them do before taking delivery? Accessories that are recommended? I have been monitoring the board for tips. I see a belly pan is suggested by someone. I'm all ears.

     Tom

Tango, welcome to the 3-wheel community. Your new rig almost brings tears to my eyes, what a great trike you have coming.
You mentioned the belly pan. I have had one on my bike/trike for going on eight years. It has more than paid for itself time and time again. I surely would recommend it. Anything else, sounds like the only thing missing is kitchen sink with hot & cold running water. Ha! I would just kick back, enhance your riding skills, and enjoy your new CSC kit.
I am in about the same spot. My kit will hopefully be done in a week or so. I went with the MT IRS kit. Can't wait to give it a run.

    I converted my '03 Goldwing.
Good luck to you, Tom.

Congrats on the new ride order.....sounds like U have done some home work.. don't know where U live, if U live out west and intent to travel the desert I would get the add on gas tank for the x-tra mileage...???? (this has to be done during the build, cannot be added later) If U live up north and intend to ride any in the cold weather I would look at the heated grips and seats... (these can be done later).
good luck and continue reading the board lots of good informatiion on here...

Keep us posted and we love pictures

Thanks all for the suggestions, keep em coming. The deal just got better. CSC made me an offer I couldn't refuse. Optional gas tank($580) and Chrome Directional Wheels($525) for $150! WOWSER! Dealer couldn't believe it either. It was Christmas all over again. I'm located in N/E PA. so riding it will have to wait till spring. They will deliver it when it is all put together.

Will post pics as soon as we get some. Tom

    Congratulations!

If you opt for the belly pan I would recommend the louvered version.

    You need LIGHTS, LIGHTS, LIGHTS!

Wow! New members showing up left and right! Could it be that this national cold snap has folks at the 'puter instead of riding? Welcome to the boards!

OK Tango-you asked for it, time to pay the motorcycle tax, AKA accessories!
We've been triking for 18 years, I've had a 2 wheeler of some sort for 42, so we've accumulated a few things.

So the first accessory I would get? Drink holders and a pair of good insulated cups. The Butler seems to have a very good following, but we found our own cups and got holders to fit. At least 20 oz is recommended, better if larger. Even on mild days you need to stay hydrated to keep the riding skills sharp.

As for the rest, there is stuff for you, and there is stuff for the ride, like safety chrome and other farkles, from heated liners for the cold to cool vests for the heat, chaps, jackets (leather and/or textile) helmets, (I have 2 half helmets, an open face and a full face, wife has a 1/2, a 3/4 and a modular full face.) We use the open face helmets the most. Intercom system, Mp3 player hooked into the intercom, but that may be superseded by the phone- it has 8gig of music and can get Pandora internet radio. I love the RAM mounting system - almost anything can be mounted to the bike with the balls and arms. Seating - we sprung for a custom seat, Diamond in our case. Both Gloria and I agree it is the best thing we got for the trike. We ride long, 200 miles is a short ride for us, and the stock seat just wasn't working for us. The difference in comfort was amazing and immediate, and it got better we put miles on it.

The list could go on and on.

You don't need everything at once, but it is probably a good idea to clean out a cabinet or at least a few shelves in the garage dedicated for those trike items that are coming.

Why don't you just come right out & say it, Ozark -- the trike/bike is just the down payment for all the other goodies we gotta have! Ozark mentioned some of these; "Skid lids", boots, jackets, pants/chaps, heated gear, cool gear, rain gear, camping gear, seats, a TON of chrome, more horse power, better tires, better shocks, maybe a trailer & on & on. Now, we're not trying to scare ya'll off, it's just part of this insanity that's infected those of us who've developed a taste for bugs. You'll see -- first bike/trike gathering you go to where there's a big congregation of us like minded souls worshiping the Chrome God, you're GONNA see something & say "I LIKE that! THAT would look GOOD on my trike!" If ya wanna save money, do NOT ever go to Sturgis when the Ralley is going on! I managed to go there last summer & only buy some T shirts. BUT --- I saw a bunch of trikes there & on the road. Now, I'm building one!!

TANGO U don't mention where your at. If u are in the North East I would recommend you stay away from Americade or Lake George, NY area for the first 2 weeks in JUNE. You could easily drop $1,000 there in an afternoon on a Gold wing . I do every year it seems .

Thanks for the heads up on the drink holders. Dealer was stiff on the accessory prices. Probably because he discounted the bike so much. Will be adding as we go along. Tom

THAT would look GOOD on my trike!" If ya wanna save money, do NOT ever go to Sturgis when the Ralley is going on! I managed to go there last summer & only buy some T shirts. BUT --- I saw a bunch of trikes there & on the road. Now, I'm building one!!

I love it, "Chrome God". Dealer said to wait on the trailer. A sale is up coming from CSC. Tom
