Trike Towing

Does anyone tow there trike? What do you use a trailer or a tow-bar? I want to drag my trike down to Florida. Who has a good solution? I have seen some nice hitch mounts and dollies. I'm open to suggestions. I grabbed some pics off eBay. The dolly is in Europe so it wouldn't be economical to ship it here compared to building or purchasing one. Check out these pics.

That looks good but I personally think for long distance towing all 3 wheels off the ground is the way to go if you can find a used car towdolly and then stretch the front of it with channel iron and some bracing you will be better off ,then strap the rear wheels down were the car tires would go and tie the front wheel and away you go .hope this helps and not confuse .

What about renting something like a U=haul trailer or one of the other rental trailers ?????

I would worry about the clearence of the kit to the road, if I had it on one of the dollies like U are talking about???? Plus that would be a lot of stress on the steering head bearing....

I have a tow dolly like Big Al is talking about and I use it to haul trikes for delivery to customers and it has been all over the country and no problems with it or the trike on it,

Ray, what U R using is what we used to call a T-rail... what he had the picture of was one that U put the front wheel in and let the 2 back wheels stay on the ground...That is why I said I though it would be a lot of stress on the steering bearing...
We used to use the T-rails for hauling our rail dune buggies....

Similar to a T trailer, but the rear wheels are off the ground to haul a trike, but a T trailer will work too and cheaper too, no need for rear suspension on the trailer, the tires are it,

I don't know if you would need to run lights for that setup? Does anyone know the law on that one?

In Florida yes you would have to either put added lights at the rear or wire to activate the lights on the trike for running brake and stop. <br />

Yes use lights then no worries some reflective tape is good too

yeah ray, I just attatched two torflex stub axles to 2 inch square tubes, which slip into 2 reciever tubes welded to my rear frame, on the front i made a hitch that pins to the front of the trike with 3 pins, takes about 10 minutes to get from transport to in the wind, oh also i have a trailer plug mounted in the front of the trike, hook up short jumper cord to truck &amp; trike lights operate with truck lights. rides smooth at any speed. Hay yall, I thought an update would be nice. I found a car dolly. My plan is to stretch it out and run the front end on the goose neck and the rear on the dolly. I think they are called T rails or T trailers. Thanks for all the good advice!
