Those voices in my head may not be real, but they have some really good ideas.
I've got the manuals, but nowhere is there any mention of the size of the shocks.

Shocks on 1996 look like motorcycle units with preload adjustor at bottom same as on my 650 just bigger
My 1996 Go 4 was a challenge over 40. Found stearing head was a little loose when I jacked the front end up. The manual said preload castle nut to 80 ft lb. Checked mine it was barely finger tight. Made the adjustment now it is rock solid at 60 mph. Castle nut is accessable by lifting the top of the dashboard. Was a very easy fix
1996 Go 4 stearing stabilizer. The stearing on these things stop to stop is extream, much more than my motorcycle. Needed @ 7 " + of travel. Didnt find a stabilizer with that much travel in my price range. Came up with position that made for much less travel. Standing in front of the vehicle look between the forks you will see a tab with a hole in it on the frame and on the lower fork support are two holes @ 4" apart. I am an electrician and thought of how we build brackets to run conduit. Unistrut makes pre drilled brackets to bolt their stuf together. I found a 20 deg 2 hole that worked for the bottom and 2 - 4 hole connectors for the forks. The forks have a recess so I needed a spacer. Unistrut to the rescue, I used their square washers
1/4" thick, 1 on one side, 2 on the other. Bolt to the 2 holes in the forks and line up the ends forward of the forks for 1 bolt. The Unistrut I used has 1/2" holes the stearing stabilizer is 3/8". I used rubber tubing to align everything in the holes. A VW bus stearing stabilizer has shockabsorber type 1 bolt ends and is made for a much heaver vehicle. The amount of travel this location allows is minimal so the stiff stabilizer works ok.
