Progressive 440's Heavy Duty

I have a 98 Valkyrie Motor trike conversion done back in 06. Want to replace original shock's have tried to find information in forums lots of talk about progressive shocks. I am a need for speed and curve junkie. I would like to go with the progressive 440's heavy duty. Can this be done or do I have to order ones that works with the MT converison? Also what length do I need right now I have mine set stiff as the lesser settings are to soft, measurement is 13.5 so is that a 12. or 12.5? Hopefully with the 440's I will be able to adjust with the touch of hand when needed to make adjustments for road conditions?

Becarefull you do not want the back end to stiff.
Making the back end to stiff can cause the back end to jump around more.
You can never make a trike handle the curves like a two wheel 1800 or a crotch rocket.so becarefull what you wish for.

Hmmmm... I may have to try that as well. I had a pair of Progressive 440HD's on the bike when it had two wheels. They worked great, (and a superior shock IMO)... improved the ride greatly. I still have them. They are 12.5 inches if memory serves me. I wouldn't think an inch or two would make that much difference... only set up or down the height that the frame rides off of the road which wouldn't be as important on a trike as it would on a bike because of clearance needed on a two wheeled bike in order to lean in the corner. I don't know the length of the trike shocks, but you can bet I'm going to check it out. Thanks... Chumbly-

Let me know how the 440 HD turn out on measurement. I have two oversized rear tires so I want to make sure I keep the tires off the fender wells.

Measurement is figured using the measurement from center of the top pin to center of the bottom pin. My MT kit uses 13 1/4 inch shocks... the original bike had 12 1/4 inch shocks, but I replaced them with 12 1/2 inch Progressive 440 HD's. I could put these on the trike conversion, but it would drop the suspension down another inch... don't think I will bother. If you are still interested in Progressive shocks, I believe you can order them in almost any size, (if memory serves me right). They are expensive though, so be prepared. Chumbly-
