    Default Ford Dealerships

I am new to this site. Haven't had to take to dealer yet, but was wondering if everyone has had access to dealer with lifts for the Stallion.

They use a regular car lift. Just be carefull when you put them up. If you use a drive on lift, use lumber to put under the front tire, and back itup.

We have had ours to a Ford dealer and they used the lift with the 4 movable arms, which is the same as our Stallion dealer has. No problem with that.

Kenneth, we've got some very knowledgeable Stallion owners here. I'm sure you'll get great answers. They will be popping online in the next few days and will see your question. Meanwhile, explore the posts in the Stallion section and you will find some good information there.

pull the right rear wheel off, there is a water line that goes front to back, there is a sensor in the water line that would be in front of the right rear tire which you can only see with the tire off. there is a wire pushed on to the sensor on the top of the sensor, pull it off and with the key on ground the wire(touch the wire to ground) , if the fan starts the sensor is not sensing the heat and does not turn the fan on, the sensor is bad if when grounding the wire the fan runs.<br />
until you get a new sensor installed you can run with the wire grounded and the fan on all the time, if the fan is not turning you can only go about 30 miles or so and the engine will over heat.

I have not had any problems yet with my Stallion, but I did call two different Ford Dealers and they never even heard of a Stallion before. One was in Pennsacola Fl and the other in Brewton AL.

I'll try and put World Ford (Pensacola...I used to work there) on notice as when I buy mine that is where I anticipate taking it in for service if the dealer can't handle it. I take it you are also talking about the Ford dealership in Milton, you may have to take them a brochure and drop it off and let them know they may want to call TMS and ask what they need to do in case a Stallion does show up for service.

Welcome aboard Kenneth. Besides Silverdevils suggestion, try the fuse in the fuse box under the seat. The owners manual will have a listing look for the fuse marked "Climate Control" that fuse also controls the fans power. You can replace it with a 30 amp per TBMS. If neither of these suggestions solves your problem call Adam or Nick at the factory they will help you troubleshoot the issue.

I just noticed that you mentioned Brewton instead of Milton...did the Milton dealer ship go out of business?

You also may want to roll in with your Stallion at either of these places to show them what you are talking about. When you lift the hood up and they see the Ranger engine in there...they may be a bit more cooperative.

Ask to speak with the manager. If you still get no cooperation call TBMS and ask them to call the manager. The engine under warranty with Ford.

As to your problem, it may be the brake switch or some switch which needs to be waterproofed. That is what happened to mine. Once they replaced the relay or switch everything was fine. Start with looking for fuses, and then work your way up from there.

Your bike is under warranty, so it is just a matter of finding a shop to work on it.

I am having a good experience with Tommie Vaughn Ford in Houston. I just showed up and asked about an oil change and took in my owner's manual. I have a guy in the service dept who gets it. If I drive up and he's not there, I wait till they find him.

Others on this thread are correct, you just have to press a bit to get them to understand it's a Ford engine in there. If they really don't want to help you, move to another dealership where they think it's interesting.

Amen on the backing up suggestion.. When I was at the muffler shop, they had a good sized lip on the edge of their bay. He kept saying back it up, and I caught the edge of my underliner on the lip of the bay and heard RRRIPP!
I was so thankful it wasn't the plastic that broke. However, when I crawled under and took pix and sent them in to Nick, I ended up having to buy all 3 parts of the underliner. Quite an expense but they shipped them right away and my muffler guy put them on for nothing since he felt bad about it.

As a FYI the Ford Dealer in Summerville, SC works on them, and the Stallion dealer is only about a mile away from him., so you have 2 choices if you ever find yourself in the Charleston area and in need of repairs.

I did take the wheel off and pulled the blue wire off of the overheat sensor and grounded it with the key on, the fan DID turn on.

in fact I will run a wire that will go between the blue wire and the sensor and run it to a switch I can get to while behind the wheel and then to ground so if the bike starts to overheat I can turn the fan on.

I did have the sensor go out on me about a year ago and I remember the ford mechanic saying that he DID ground the blue wire with the key ON and the fan did run, that is how he found the problem.

Molino, I did call Ford World in Pensacola and they never heard of a Stallion before. The Ford dealer in Milton is no longer around. The one in Brewton AL doesn't take care of the Stallion either.

Dean, I've been e-mailing my contact at World Ford and he says he has one of the service managers working on contacting TMS. He said he'd let me know when she found out anything.

It may be they don't contact TMS until you actually have something go wrong with the Stallion and then, maybe, they spring into action at the time. Anyway as soon as he lets me know anything I'll post it here.

Reference Ford: Please have your Ford Service Director Check his service notices from Ford Corporate and they will find service advisory directive from Ford Corporate reference serviceing Stallions. After reviewing directive from Corporate he will then have to call NICK at TBMS for approval on warranty repairs that are TBMS problem. Service advisory will tell them how to handle FORD wty. items. TBMSW is very pro active reference service and warranty and will do all to make sure customer problem is solved. Charlie D.
