My wife Wendy and I have been to Eureka Springs a number of times. Great area to ride and look forward to making another trip to the area.
For anyone interested in the Civil War, they have the Pea Ridge National Military Park located close to Rogers AR that has a 7 - mile tour road and a nice Visitors Center. They also have the Prairie Grove Battlefield State Park located 9 miles Southwest of Fayetteville AR
The Pig Trail Scenic Byway (Rt - 23 South from Eureka Springs) is one of the better rides.

We have been there several times and really enjoyed it. We may show up if my health is good enough for the trip.
We stayed at Motel 62, they were very welcoming and did all they could to make us feel welcome. Their prices are very reasonable and if you talk to them they may give you a group discount. Trike Talk/Trike Owners International held their last rally that they had there at that motel.

Been there 3 times with another trike group of friends, we are always interested in going back (already have reservations for next year). We stay at the Regency Inn, good people and they take very good care of us. Johana is Mgr, tell her OJ sent you and see if she will give you a good price, if you don't already have plans.

I’ve been to several TOI gatherings in Eureka Springs and have stayed at several hotels in area. Have had a couple suggestions thus far and I’ll add a location called “The Lodge” centrally located actually right across street from buffet place that TOI has used in past.
Smaller - 23 rooms but very nice with several places nearby
Any more suggestions?
First of January I’ll make some calls dependent on numbers here for some rates
Is having breakfast at hotel important?

Camping for me at this stage of my life is a hotel without room service
i do know there are several campgrounds in area but that is extent of my knowledge
Not sure if this should be in a new thread or not
I've been checking on hotels for the dates listed. It seems rates are from $83 and up
best deal I've found is Best Western Eureka Inn at about $92.00 a night tax included. Place is centrally located and does include a breakfast buffet.
Feel free to post thoughts and suggestions

I've been doing some checking for a "headquarters hotel" so to speak
ive come up with 2 places
1. The Lodge smaller place - 23 rooms does offer some covered bike parking and a nice area to gather in during the evening. Great coffee but no breakfast - the buffet restaurant we ve been to in past years is right across street
2. Best Western Eureka Inn much larger place lots of room and parking. Hotel will try their best to group us together. Does offer a full breakfast
Rates range from $80-$95 dollars at either place
of course feel free to stay anywhere you prefer
Whats your preference?

I think TrikeTalk's first Eureka Springs gathering was at the Best Western Inn Of The Ozarks. Best Western Inn of the Ozarks is on the west end of Eureka on Hwy62 as you are coming from Rogers, It has the water wheel out front. Best Western Eureka Inn is also on 62, but more into town by the corner of 62 ( AKA Van Buren St.) and Main St, which goes to the downtown historic/tourist/shopping area. Quick web search shows that the Eureka Inn is about $85 or so for early June, $15 cheaper than the Inn of the Ozarks at about $100.
Best Western Inn of the Ozarks: http://www.innoftheozarks.com/

Of course, there are bunches of other hotels, motels and campgrounds to stay.

As Don said, TT's first reunion was at the BW Inn of the Ozarks. It is a really nice place with a large lower area for gatherings before organized rides. Also had a restaurant on site, with good evening meals.
Our last stay there was at Motel 62. Much more economical, but much less amenities. It was good, adequate accommodations.
A couple of years ago, a group of us stayed at the Regency Inn, a little farther east on Hy-62. It was another economical motel, but the owners made the difference. They were actually appreciative of our business, would stop by a group of us BS'ing and ask if they could do anything for us, they left buckets of old towels/rags outside our doors to clean the trikes. The place was mentioned by OJ/Big Juice also in his post.

Jan and I Will be staying at the Regncy Inn. Pricing is better and we like the owners there. Johanna has gone out of their way to help me when I had an accident out on the road. They were hosting the American Trike Riders Asso and Took me to the ER then came and visited me in the hospital. So they will have my business. They're good Christian folks we will meet you wherever you decide is your host hotel.

Regency Inn is a good place to stay, and the staff is great. When my sister and brother in law were in the Ozarks we stayed there. The price is good and they have 44 rooms. Looks like rates at this time are $55 - $65, and $199 for the 3 bedroom cottage in late May and into June.

Johnny, I got your PM but you have blocked private messages (at least mine), I tried twice, so I can't reply to answer your question. How many rooms are you looking to block off for this ride? Or, you can just call Johanna yourself (tell her I sent you) at 818, four nine seven, 3557. She knows we are looking for a place to host a ride in May and will give you a fixed rate for anyone who says they are with your ride. See what her pricing is and compare with other places. She does a real nice job for Stan and the American Trike Riders Assoc. each year, and that is where I got to know her, through them. She will also do a "cash" price (cheaper) and a charge card price quote for you.

On Booking.com the Regency Inn is rated 9 based on 176 reviews.
The lowest rating was 8.8. This is the narrative of that review.
Cons: The towels were not the softest but they were clean.
Pros: The staff was very friendly. The room was great for the price. The owners were AMAZING!! Very friendly and helpful. We were greeted as soon as we walked in the door. When they heard we were there for a quick getaway to celebrate our 10 year anniversary they surprised us with a cute set of swan towels and a card with some chocolates just to let us know they were thinking of us.

John, the best scenario my be, just let everyone pick their own place and price, then you set a place and time to meet each day. That way we are just responsible for ourselves. I'm sorry if I got this started, I just wanted you to know where we were staying and we would meet you at your designated location. 🕷🍺

No worries Juice
I think and others will agree we do need to decide on a host hotel/ meeting / gathering place.. Each can then decide where they wish to stay.
i usually stay at "The Lodge" in Eureka Springs very nice but small place. Great coffee but no breakfast. Right across street from buffet place we've been too for some dinners.
Ive also stayed at Best Western Eureka Inn - nice place plenty of room central location and breakfast included. Big drawback is they'd like a contract ( which I'm not about to sign) and guarantee on rooms.
Ive never been to Regency Inn but seems to offer what we need enough bike parking coffee and something to munch on in the am decent rates and good social media reviews - every place gets someone saying something negative.
ill get info from them tomorrow and then post here. Together we can decide on a host place but regardless people will and can stay where they choose
and that's my two cents worth
Larry Sobczak

Johnny, you can't make everyone happy. Just make a decision and everyone has the option to stay at a different hotel. I think the majority will be happy and stay at the base hotel.

Talked with Regency Inn this morning. Seem like very nice people who would love to have us. Plenty of rooms available. Discount there would depend on number of rooms group takes. It's been suggested that I just pick a place and go from there. Not my style so I'll put this out to everyone. As I see it we have two choices for out host hotel that have the space plus amenities we'd like
1. Best Western Eureka Inn
2. The Regency Inn
Everyone is capable of checking each out via websites. Voice your opinions here. Next Monday I'll list our host hotel - it will be the place our rides leave from as well as I'm sure the place for evening B.S. sessions

Near as I can remember, the credit card price is about $10 more per night. That may not be exactly right (I have always paid cash) but I know the difference is enough to make it worthwhile to pay cash.

If I don't have enough cash, I just borrow it from Stan, but his interest rates are high, so I try to make sure Jan gives me enough to pay our bill! I can't seem to get any extra from her for "incidentals" though!?!

I consider my interest rates to be quite reasonable. As long as the rate has 2 digits and the first one is a 2 or more, I'm happy. BTW my friend Guido handles my collection problems. They are usually resolved quickly. :D

My wife booked our room today.
She was told that they only had 2 rooms left from the original 20 room block.
Also the cost ( $59.00 per night ) is cash only.
She did not ask for the cost of a room charging it to a credit card.
Ride Safe
Larry I made my reservation and got a E-mail from them I gave them a credit card # and my charges are $59.oo a night for 4 night and $33.63 tax total $269.63 if cash is $59.oo with no tax then that is the way I will go

They always ask for a credit card number with a phone reservation just for confirmation purposes and so they have a place to charge the first night if you don't show up and don't cancel in advance.
$59 + tax is the cash rate; the credit card rate is higher than that, also plus tax. They do charge tax if you pay cash but it is less than the tax on the credit card rate simply because the room rate is less.
Jerry, looks like you may have to scale back your plans. Jr was going to spend the tax savings on your beer.

He has to pay for my beer before his room. That way the motel has to worry about their money. I still get my beer.

Been watching this thread for a while and found out my traveling work schedule will allow us to be able to go! Going to talk with the wife tonight and make sure her plans and mine are in the same boat so we can row it there together! Y'all going to show us the ropes since it will be our first trike gathering? Thinking about coming in on Wednesday and leaving sometime over the weekend. Is the gathering dates for rides just going to be for M-F or is anything going on Saturday?
Cleared with Rhena! Count us in!

Hey Recycledteen - glad you'll be able to join us for your first Trike Talk gathering. There is no mystery about it, just show up and have a good time. Even if you stay a few days after the official end day (and many do) there is so much good riding around Eureka you will defiantly want to come back for more. I have lived in the area just over 20 years and I'm still finding new routes to ride.

I decided to stay in east Texas tonight. My plan was to make it the border so I could spend the night in Arkansas, but the weather changed that plan. I didn't get too far today due to rain, rain and more rain. It was raining so hard at one point I thought it was hailing. Giant bolts of lightning were getting too close for comfort a few times.
My rain suit got a workout today. My poor Freewheeler is so dirty I don't think it will ever be clean again.

We got to St Louis with Lola. Her bike is in Doc's HD near her hotel. They are going to put in a new battery & right tail /brake lite. Bad circuit board. Janiene & I went a bit farther to clear the city. Will be home tomorrow,God willing & the creeks don't rise.

I am lucky I made reservations at the Best Western based on a friend's recommendation. Just happens to be a couple of blocks from Doc's. My friend doesn't ride, no one in her family does, but made it easy for me.
The service writer said I was the 2nd lady to come in today with the same circuit board problem, but she is local so I am getting preferential treatment. I made it to Eureka Springs before my battery started acting up so i was praying it would hold on long enough to get here. Sometimes, like this morning and this afternoon when the service writer started it, the little devil worked perfectly. I did look up motorcycle repair in ES and saved the number to my contacts just to make myself feel better.
We had a really nice ride today and a fun week.

We went through 2sets of those lights on Judy’s freewheeler. Pos as far as I’m concerned. Kept filling with water causing bad circuit boards. Ended up replacing them with custom dynamics and no problems.
Glad you made it safe

Glad they're taking care of you, sorry but what exactly is going on with the circuit board again?...Is that what drained the battery?
Otherwise hope you had fun in ES :)

Water in tail-light shorting out led' circuit board. Battery is just weak i guess. Lola told me today it is original battery

Hey Bill :wave4:
So if this is a known problem why haven't they recalled it? I've been caught out in pouring rain a couple of times now, so how can I prevent this from happening?
Thanks for chiming in buddy...

We’ve fought this problem with Judy’s freewheeler Harley LED taillights since we bought it in 2015. Last year after many complaints to harley and dealer they finally replaced them with a new set of LED taillights
Dealer promised no more issues no leaks etc.
they leak the leaks cause problems eventually with the circuit boards. First time in the rain the new lights leaked and filled with water.
So much for stealer promises.
Bye bye harley LEDs. We installed the custom dynamics LEDs. Rode in the rain last year and again in Eureka Springs with no issues.
Bye the way we have a brand new set of harley LEDs for the freewheeler sitting in garage in case anyone wants the pos’s

It's the Genesis II taillight from Custom Dynamics
for the Freewheeler you'd order two and mount them upside down
noticed they are also selling the circuit boards separately as well
The problem lies with the harley lights leaking which in turn messes up the circuit board

Harley has replaced my lights three times under warranty. I poured the water out in Eureka Springs, as well as in east Texas.
I want to be shining brightly until I get home so I was happy to get it fixed under warranty once again.
There’s a long thread about this problem so my plan was to replace them. I sealed the hole under the fender with silicone and have not had any problems with my third set so I forgot about it.

Randall, the last time I saw you, your Freewheeler had the original taillights. I messed up and paid extra for the ones that are a PIA.

Jan and I had a great trip to Eureka Springs for the gathering........yes we got wet a few times but hey, that's riding motorcycles. Here are some pictures that Jan and I took during the week. There were 2 different rides on Tuesday, one on Wednesday and 2 on Thursday. Also picture of the group resting after a days ride, while under the tree at the Regency Inn. Well, we got back to Ohio about 3 today. Enjoyed ES & meeting new people. Little rest then a ride to east side of Pa. Then home again for a Tony Bennett concert & a week or so after that we head for the Rally in Deadwood. Now I have some routes to check out, so I can let Johnny B know where we will spend 2 nd nite on the way to Kerrville. Might have to relent, & let Randall have the 1st piece of BFCC.

I arrived home at 11:00 AM yesterday. I decided to make the trip from Oklahoma City into a two day, early riding only trip due to record high temperatures with heat blasting winds.
I enjoyed seeing old friends and making new ones as well as being a tourist in Saint Louis and spending time with family and friends in Oklahoma.

Hey ya'll :wave4::wave4::wave4::wave4:
Eureka Springs is almost in my backyard (Springfield, Mo) and I've been there many times on my bike. A few yearss ago I lived in my cabin on Table Rock Lake, soooo, I know the area pretty well.
Now that I'm triked up, I'd like to get down there again on this VTX 1800.
Please count me in for your next gathering!
If I can help you out, please let me know.
We stay at Ozarks Cabins just outside of town, they have single cabins for the price of the in town motels, around $90-100 but some off season prices are half that. Might Google them, they are pretty cheap for tent sites and RVs as well.
And, if anyone would like to see the fall colors, let's ride:D
Being retired I never have to ask for a day off! :clapping:

I need to submit my vacation requests for 2019 next week. I have never been to a rally or gathering and it seems this one would be a good first try. Will there be one for 2019 and what would be the tentative dates?
Thanks in advance.
