Can anyone tell me the difference between the two (2010 or 2011) Ultra tri glide and why would one be better than the other? Comparing that to a Champion or a DFT conversion. Any comments welcome. Ian.:banghead::Computer:

2010 was put "together" by Lehman, 2011 in house by HD. New colors, final drive gear change, just about all.
Converting a 2 wheeler (if you're buying a new HD) most likely will end up costing more money than buying a TG to start with.

If you have a good 2-wheeler now.....convert it. No new HD scooter (two-or-three wheels) is likely to be any better and certainly won't be any less troublesome.
Not a Harley-Hater. Have owned 15-20 over the last 25-years and own one now.
Thank you even the dealer didn't know about the difference in the sourcing of the two Tri's. Would Champion handle shingle roads? Kiorana123
Champion makes a great product!!! I'm speaking from experience with their solid suspension kit (which has been without a second of trouble for a good four years and many, many miles!). I have no experience with their more recent addition of the independent suspension.

2010 has 32T sprocket / 2011 has 30T...2011 better take off and climbing hills
2010 cruise optional / 2011 standard ( 500.00 more but cruise is 1000.00 option)

I think they also made some changes in the rear brakes too Kentucky. I have the specs. on the 11 brakes, but not the 09 and 10. Also, some of the 11 models are getting out to the dealers misaligned, which has caused yet another TG stink-up.
123...if you mean a "washboard" road...I live in the country and traverse some pretty rough roads. There are plenty of terribly bad roads in the mountains too and I have never shook anything off yet. Most of the kits, as well as the TG frame wise, are pretty solid builds. You can go as fast as you can hang on, or stand the beating.
The 11 has a different oil cooler, Rear body parts are made of a different materal. Rear box is closer fit to rear of seat less gap. Improved switches turn signals, 4 way flasher, Better water proof on switches. triglide badge on front fender. Trunk Lock different single latch. Plus harder rotor meteral on rear brakes. Larger rear brake pad foot print. And the 30t sprocket Elec reverse standered on the 11 also. You can get a Brand new 2011 black TG in NY for for 30k out the door tax and tags included thats around 27,500 before tax.
Thank you to you all. Going for the Champion with independent suspension and VSC. Should handle some of our more interesting roads well, in fact better than me until I learn how to ride it! Should have it by March 2011. It's quite hard to "park a dream" until it arrives! Unfortunately there is an awful lot of ocean between here and America, so nothing arrives in New Zealand fast. Hope you all have a Blessed Christmas. At least it is summer here! Arohanui, 123.:Pepper:
