    Default 2018 Can-Am Spyder RT Accessory cable install to battery

    Looking for some guidance... I have a friend who's asked me to install a Gerbings Heated Gear 12v power cable to her battery...

    I ride a Harley and getting to the battery is easy enough, installed many a power cord to a Harley battery..

    However , I have no experience yet with a Can-Am

    Is there a video posted here or a good step by step process I could follow..? All I need access to is the terminals and I can get it done. Any help would be appreciated.

    I'm not positive but I think they moved the battery location from under the seat to in the frunk. Frunk being that storage space in front that lifts up like the hood of a car since you aren't really familiar with Spyders. You have to remove the pan that is in there that then exposes the battery and fuse blocks. I just can't remember which year that got moved. But I don't think yours is under the seat about as far back out of the way as possible. I think that was back in 2012 but some time after that they moved it to the front which is much much easier to service. I'm thinking 2014 but possibly 2013. So yours "should be" up front.
    The only reason some people are still alive is it's illegal to shoot them.

    I was wondering about that myself. My wife rides a '16 RTS, and I was wanting to run the cables for a tender to her battery. Amazingly enough, the thing has set the last two winters, and fired right up after 2-3 months of no use sitting out in the cold weather. I don't want to take that chance for another year.

    The battery is in the frunk. If you have the liner pull it back and look straight down in the back toward the bottom. Two screws need to be removed and then remove the cover.

    Battery is behind the cover.

    If you have the manual it will be in there to for the location.

    My wife is the Spyder rider and I finally got around to asking her and that is exactly what she said. Liner and screws being the keys. She's been in there and says it isn't hard at all.
    The only reason some people are still alive is it's illegal to shoot them.

    Just make sure it gets sealed up correctly or you will have a leak.

    There are also two Fuse covers on the top back wall of the frunk. Make sure those dont get knocked around or it will leak too.
