    Default Trike Lift Kit

I ordered and recieved the lift kits. The local HD dealer did not want to even consider installing the brackets ... the service manager recommended a local trike builder ... I call them and they said to come on over ... the shop owner looked at the parts ... read the direction and then he and another guy made up their own plan to install the parts ... they did have a world class lift and used 4 jacks ... from the time they first looked at the instruction until they took it off the lift was 29 minutes ... well worth the half hour charge.

The machine looks much better ... I have read someone set their shock air pressure at 30 LBS and someone else said 40 LBS ... I set the pressure at 35 LBS ... I took it for a 325 mile ride Sunday and it was perfect ... the front end seemed to have a little more bit to it but that was a good thing ... one nice surprise, maybe ... I have been checking my fuel milage because a couple of weeks ago I replaced the stock pipes with V & H Duals to get rid of the cat ... also had it retuned so I wanted to check to see if there was a change in milage ... I noticed Sunday I got an extra 2 to 3 miles per gallon ... could it be with the machine sitting more level there is better air flow under the bike and less wind resistance ...

I just put the lift kit on my 2011 Triglide yesterday. I like the looks better. I also put 35 psi in the shocks.

The mileage increase is probably due to the rear being higher and therefore allowing the bike to coast farther with the front being lower than the back now. Sort of like going down hill

I received my lift kit from Dennis a couple of weeks ago and installed it right away. ( been riding and doing other things everyday since so I haven't had time to post about it ) The kit is great, took me about 45 minutes to install it, dropped the air to 35 psi and took off. The trike really seems to handle better with the kit on ( maybe because it sits forward more ?? ) anyway it sure looks a lot better and I don't drag my pipes comming out of the garage anymore.
Thanks Dennis, great product and well worth the money !!

I am surprised by the dealers remark (OK, not real surprised). I have several now buying and doing the install. I have not found a down side to them yet. I also feel the front has more bite, wish I had had a way to weigh all three points on glide before and after the install.
On this last trip, I ran only 24 PSI in rear tires, 25 PSI in shocks. This with bike loaded, two up plus a tour box rack bag. Average mileage 32. This was rolling about 75 on interstate home. Two lane on way down best was 36 one tank.

Haven't installed my lift yet but I now put 25 psi in my shocks and 26 psi in the rear tires. Interesting idea...drop the rear tire pressure by a couple pounds. You think it might take less bite off the front tire since you now have the rear-to-front weight shift?

I dropped my rear tire pressure before lift. With the roads around here, helped with a little more cushion in rear.
I like having more front bite, or at least the feeling.

I received my Shock lift brackets/Tour Box rails a couple weeks ago. The following Wednesday I installed them on my 2011 TriGlide. I got to tell ya... what a difference they made. There was a slight wobble around 20 mph before the lift was installed, now it rides smooth. Also the bike liked to ride left/right of center, because of the crown in the road. Now, not so noticeable. Also the pipes know longer scrape the ground coming off parking lots onto the road. I run the front tire 36psi the rears 26psi and the shocks 35psi everything runs and looks great. The Tour Box Rails, set off the look of the trike. Getting the tour box up level looks so much better, and you can see the lighting much better at night. I figure it this way... With all the extra stuff I'm installing on my trike- Running boards, bigger pipes, hitch, trailer, tag a long and a wife who doesn't know how to pack light, LOL. I had better start with the lift kit.

Thanks Dennis for a great product.

Well, I was going to wait to post until I had my Lift Kit installed but I just have this to say this now, "Dennis is certainly a reputable and honest business man that is eager to go the extra mile to make sure you are happy".

If you are on the fence about this kit, (or the tour pack rail brackets for that matter) read the other "testimonials" above, and jump off, you won't be sorry..........I am so excited waiting for mine I can barely contain myself, in a Tasmanian Devil kinda way, of course.

I am so sure about this lift kit I have already updated my signature.
    Thank you Dennis!

Trent (and anyone else considering this kit),
My package came yesterday. Man am I impressed!! These are heavy duty pieces, and the photo's don't do them justice. The powder coating on these brackets is so thick. The instructions are straight forward. I plan on trying this myself as soon as it rains out a weekend again. Seems easy enough for me and I have limited skills, plus I have quite a way to go for my 5k service. Shipping to my house was minimal. The package arrived in the time Dennis said it would. These are definitely worth the money. And we get a discount. Ha! It's a no-brainer.

If you want a more even stance, your pipes drag, or want to install larger diameter pipes (mufflers). I do, mine do, and I do!!

I PM'd Dennis, he had them packaged and out the door that night, the next day I had a e-mail saying I owed him the money, I used my PayPal account, and just like that, another happy customer.

    Thanks Dennis!

Just got my TG outta the shop with the lift kit installed. Pulled it up next to an identical trike without the lift kit cuz that owner had sat there and waited till the shop was thru with mine so he could see it. My fenders were a full 2 to 2 1/2 inches taller than his. His 4" Rhineharts were a full 2.5 inches lower to the ground than mine. All agreed they liked the more level look of my bike with the lift. Will take it for a good ride tomorrow and try it out. Oh....When doing the 5,000 mile service, tech discovered that the main fork bolt was very loose...sez I should have noticed a flexing in the fork, which I didnt...He was quite concerned and said that was the 2nd TG he had seen that on and he was glad I brought it in before something went seriously wrong. He torqued it to specs but wants me to bring it back in a coupla weeks so he can check it again.

Installed the lift kit on saturday. No more scraping riding off the table lift. Easy job, just follow the instructions.

Went for a 3 hour ride yesterday with the new lift kit. I noticed a considerable handling difference in the curves. Rode a twisty mountain road up to Idaho City and the TG hugged the line better and I was able to move thru the curves faster than I could before. The front tire felt like it had a tighter grip on the road. Changed the look of the trike with the leveling effect. I am very happy with the lift kit and would reccomend it to everyone. Seems like such a common sense thing to do,,,dunno why someone didnt think of it sooner or at the factory. Good job Dennis, on coming up with such a functional common sense product for us to install!!!

Installed the lift kit and the Tour Pack rails on my '11 TriGlide this weekend. Wow, notable difference in the way it handles and definitely took care of that "sagging rear springs" look that it seemed to have from the factory. Great products with an extremely high quality of workmanship. Thanks Dennis!!

We need to thank Jerry for the idea of the lift brackets, he started this by flame cutting some for himself. He was not interested to mass produce and I was able to link up with a water jet cutting company I design for and on occasion run machine for. This technology is a good fit for this type part.
All in all, good part that does improve looks and function of the T Glide.

"Thank You Jerry" (by the way, did you ever get those 4" mufflers?)

Well, I jumped off the fence and ordered the new mufflers. The Supertrapp Kerker with Yaffe Claw end caps. I haven't received them yet but after looking at them again online after ordering them, man am I glad I have the lift kit! Since I have to take the rear wheels off to install the lift kit anyway I plan on installing everything at the same time and will post pics and a video with the before and after look.

I really like what I am reading about your (all of you) experiences with the lift kit. I am so excited.

OH YEA!!! I have been meaning to bring this subject up. Night driving and forward lighting. I read (either on this site or another) that at night the axillary lighting can be pretty intense and cause oncoming traffic to think our high beams are on thus prompting them to flash theirs to let us know to turn ours off. When we don't they keep theirs on to get back at us. (Dumb, I know but....yes, I am getting to the point) And as such, this thread I was reading was talking about light "eyelids" or covers, that cover half the light housing, keeping the light primarily down on the road. Now all that is well and fine but where I live, the sides of the roads are corn fields. And most of them are higher than the roadway. And for hungry traveling deer, are perfect places to get ambushed from. I adjust my auxiliary light outwards a bit so I deliberately have a well lit wider field of view just for this purpose. At the same time I don't want to blind someone into driving off the road or into me.

I wonder if this "high beam affect" is reduced at all with the installation of the lift kit? I know for a fact my headlight needs to be adjusted to bring it down a little but that might just be my weight LOL. Could just be another real good reason to have a lift kit.

    Thanks,
    Rob

I had a clunking noise, and flexing also [TG 2011] at about 12 hundred miles
Sounded / felt just like a loose steering head. My dealer fixed it while i waited. So far so good.

I received the lift kit from Dennis, A few days ago very well made and i might add very fast delivery. It took less than 45 minutes to install .
Makes a big difference in ride, [softer] and steering [lighter] , All for the better.

Got to meet and have dinner with J Colson from this forum over in Anderson, IN tonight. Chilly but still a nice ride over there and a good meal with good company.
    Rhino, glad you like them.
