Question Changing oil and filter with Voyager kit ?

I'm in the process of changing the oil and filter on this "new to me" toy, and it looks like servicing that bike isn't going to be all that easy That belly plate is only 4" off the floor, and my bike jack is 5", so I'll have to find some way to get it high enough to get the drain pan under it to drain the oil. Maybe someone can pass along a few good ideas as to how to make doing the service easier on these bad boys?

Try riding up onto 2x6's one for each wheel. If that does not work try stacking two that will get you 3 inches

I used the above trick when it was just the bike but with the Voyager on I think you wouldn't want to put a board under just the bike rear wheel. I'd try running the bike front wheel up a ramp until you get enough clearance or a board under all 4 wheels. It's what I'm going to try when the time comes.

I decided to try running the front wheel up on one of my ramps I use for the truck, and it worked out just fine. Just enough space to do the job

Try runing it up on 2 2x8s that should get it off the floor 2 or 3 ins. pepper

Was under mine - {84 GL1200 Interstate}today for some saftey checks and just to learn more about how the thing is attached to the bike. How I did it ......
I have a small cheap floor jack and a small cheap cylinder type jack. I just jacked up the front, put a 4x4 with a 2x4 on top of it under the crossbrace in/near the front where the kit bolts to the belly pan. Went to back and jacked up the rear. Used four jack stands. Two under rear Votager kit frame and two under motorcycle frame by engine guards. Gets it about one foot off the floor and very stable. - Sirkitrider
