Harley Tri Glide

I noticed some other folks had ordered Tri Glides etc and wondered if any one else is riding them. I love mine. One thing though the HD dealers do not know a lot about them.

I love my TriGlide!!! I have put about 100 miles on so far in between wind, rain and COLD weather. It is really easy to ride. I still take curves slow and the other day thought I would fall into a ditch when a car came around the curve on my side and forced me to the far right on a narrow crowned road. I had to yank the front wheel to the left and missed it by inches. They just feel so wide, that I may have over reacted and went too far to the right. But I will tell you that "my little pony" just moved right on over for me and didn't over steer. Anyway, Have lots of fun on your new trike. They really are awesome.

Word of caution : Watch that inside ( left ) wheel on the yellow line. Real easy to forget it is a trike and start riding like a 2 wheeler and your wheel ends up on the yellow line. I get turtle slaps a lot for that behavior.

I know about the wind and the rain and the cold, I am 45 miles from my 500 mile break in. Tempted to ride more anyway. Everyone I ride with is on two wheels and it is very easy to be temted to follow their line. I tend to drive like a car and stay more in the middle like we should. It does feel wide, but I think it feels wider than it actually is. I hate to hear about the car, it seems they pay attention to 3 wheels as much as 2.

In all fairness, I don't think he saw me coming. It was a blind curve. He did pull over eventually!!! I put another 50 miles on today and have 150 to go for 500 break in. Hubby was following today and wants me to take the curves from the outside to the inside to straighten them out. I like the center myself. I don't find it too hard. Took a 2 lane busy highway today and it is really curvy. I felt like I had to slow in the curves, but hubby said that no one behind him got upset and that I kept my speed pretty good. But Va. roads are terrible and the crown was just weird. As soon as I got to NC then the road was flat and the curves were easy. Could keep 55 to 60MPH, no problem.
Oh the other thing that happened the other day. Someone stopped right in the middle of the road as I was at a stop sign and rolled down the window and proceeded to ask a million questions!!!! Funny! I was by myself that day. It was a fuel truck driver. LOL!!! This is way too much fun.

That's funny you said that. I had a guy follow me Saturday into a parking lot and he go tout with a million questions. He wnated to know where to get one and I told him that Spartanburg, SC was getting one this month, but I didn't know what color. I have been doing my riding in SC, NC and GA. The roads are not crowned too much. I need ot ride in VA though. I try to straighten out the curves, but I have found that we cna take curves faster than a lot of two wheelers (that I ride with ). Again i am not trying to ride fast, because I love taking it slow, but I slow before the turn, stay in the middle with a touch of outside in and then roll on the throttle as I get to the middle and out the other end. I do the same if there are a lot of curves as well. It's easy to practice because we can break in the curve if need be.

Just have to say this.....TOLD YOU SO!!!! Trikes weren't all that common in my area when I got mine in '07, so I really expected a lot of weird looks and/or critical comments. I can't tell you how many times I've gotten thumbs up - men AND women!!! - or people following me/stopping me to ask questions! I generally HATE drawing attention to myself, but this is getting to be a blast!! Well, it was until winter set in anyway.

I'm so glad you found a way to keep riding and enjoy it!! I got a chance (finally!) to see and sit on a TriGlide yesterday at the motorcycle show. NICE...but I'm still leaning towards a Wing, IF finances ever cooperate enough for me to upgrade.

I've had my tri glide for 3 months...in the shop now becasue the trunk leaks and there are spots on the back wheels (as if the finish is coming off). waiting on a new trunk lid (they already replaced the gasket but still leaked)
