    Default TriGlide sales #s

I wonder how many TriGlides HD is selling. One of my local dealers did not stock them but had one at his open house and sold it with an enclosed trailer (sometime in November). I went by the other day and they had two in stock. I ask the salesman if the fact they sold the first one in less that two weeks after they got it is why they are stocking them now and he said yes. I have been to a number of dealers that didn't have one in stock but I think that will change as we get farther into the year.

My dealership has two on the floor at this time, a blue one and a red one. At the time I bought mine last August, my salesman told me that the next four he had coming in were already pre-sold. He could've just been blowing smoke.

as many know the '09 t/g came w/o a CAT. AND AND YEAR THE REAR BRAKES SUCK.AND HERE IN INDIANA THEY WAS ALL BIKES AFTER '82 TO BE AS QUIET AS THEY WERE WHEN THEY WERE MANUFACTURED. and there isn't ANY GRANDFATHERING CLAUSE IN THE BILL.hope it fails in this session as they are fighting over right-to-work. legislation, Gov. Daniels promised he wouldn't bring up while he was govenor.(promise broken)
anyway i would think the '09 t/g's would be in high demand.

In our area (se TN) the HD dealers are selling them as soon as they come in the door. That's a good thing!

When i first started looking at Tri's last June two dealers in N J told me they get 1 or 2 a month, and all are spoken for. So if i wanted one i would have to get on the list. About a month or so later i stopped by a dealer [Bought a Polaris ranger from them earlier] in PA. he had a demo/rental and two on the floor, I bought one, and a week later he sold the other. When i went back for the thousand mile service[n/c] he had another one on the floor, He told me they have no trouble getting them and selling them.

Its a mixed bag depending on the area the dealer is located in. The dealer I used to do business with had a waiting list, they sold them as quick as they come in. The only one they couldn't sell was the Street Glide trike when HD made it. They tried everything to get it to move, even bolted on a tour-pak. They ended up sitting on that one for a year and discounting it to get it off their floor. A couple other dealers I talked with had the same issue with the Street Glide trike, they would end up discounting them to get them off the sales floor, most quit taking them from HD due to sales issues. The other dealers could sell the Triglide Ultras as quick as they hit the floor, sometimes they never saw the sales floor.

The dealer here has 3 on the floor right now. Did have 7...Sold four of them in the last month. Told me they have no problem getting them from HD because they sell so many. They will have 2 of them in the rental fleet this year also.

For people like myself that ride one up, the Street Glide trike was the perfect answer. I loved my SG Trike and that is why I'm stripping down the TG to look more sporty! The Triglide is a big boxy trike, with thousands on the road all looking alike. I for one love HD. There is no other bike out there as far as I am concerned. My husband and I thought we might ride two up, so there for the reason for the TG in our garage. He didn't like three and I didn't like back seat. Another reason for the SG being less popular is that it is hard for two people to ride the SG trike and also a fact that most of the two up on a trike are above average in weight, and need the extra space, plus the TG has a little larger load limit, I think (not sure never checked the load on the SG. I'm not putting down people with larger frames, I'm no Twiggy myself, but just stating a fact. My SG trike didn't sit on the show room floor a week before it was sold. It was 1 yr old, with 20,000 miles on it. I have had several ladies that are biker friends of mine, that have bought TG this year, that have sent me request on how to take the tourpac off, they don't like them. I think the SG Trike is more of a womans trike, and if Harley had given it a little more of a chance, it would have made a go. When out riding on the SG trike, a lot of guys on two would come up and ask me what kit I had on the bike, even some of the younger riders would say, "I'm not ready for a trike, but when it happens, that is one I would ride", most of the two wheelers didn't even know Harley made the SG Trike and these were HD riders. Location does make a difference. Here in TN we have such beautiful areas to ride and lots of them, the sales are very good for the Harley trike. You can call me a Street Glide Trike fan. I'm sick that they quite making them.

I am obviously a big fan of the TG. My wife does not pilot her own bike nor does she care to. We do alot of 2 up long distance riding. I actually have made all necessary reservations for us to head out to Yellowstone this summer. I actually liked the looks of the SG but it was not for me. I believe HD quit making them as it was a losing proposition.

TRI-GLIDES in my opinion are just not as good looking as many of the other trike formats.. there I said it! It's nice that's it's an all Harley product but we'll see how they hold up in the years to come. Until then...

I agree it was a losing proposition, but had they given it a little more time, I think it would have done well. There are 3 of my girlfriends, that ride their own, that have bought TG this year, and doing as I am doing, stripping them down. I agree, a lot of women have no desire to ride their own, nothing wrong with that, but if a woman ever rides her own, she will never be happy on the back. We thought about going out to Yellowstone this summer, but have had a change of heart. There are some places we want to go closer to home. We won't be riding, but we will be taking the bikes. It sure does make it much nicer when you have a toyhauler. I love the fact that I am sleeping in my own bed and taking a shower in my own shower. Hope you all enjoy your trip to Yellowstone! That is some beautiful country out there. See ya in MV!

What do you ride? Post a picture! I love looking at all the trikes/bikes. It doesn't matter if it's not a Harley! Ride what you like and like what you ride.

A lot of times I would love to have a sporty trike to ride around town. I would love a V-rod trike or a fat boy. But I have to admit, I love the comfort of the TG on long trips and I do like my tourpac and SPACE!

Annette, remember we telling you once you ride your own, there is no going to the back!!

I tried that in between bikes, before the TG! It lasted for a few months.

I used to have a Dyna Lowrider. The wife wouldn't ride with me because it hurt her knees. We went in the Harley shop one day and there was a Red Hot Sunglow. She told me she could ride with me on that. The red one was sold, we didn't want black or blue. It took 9 months to get a 2009 Red Hot Sunglow TriGlide. We are enjoying it very much.

Annette, remember we telling you once you ride your own, there is no going to the back!!

I tried that in between bikes, before the TG! It lasted for a few months.
Yes Joan I remember! Do you remember year before last at TTR the couple that had that beautiful white sporty they had triked? Now that was one purdy ride!

Red Hot Sunglow, I love that color...that was the color of my Street Glide Trike. She was a beauty!

I remember that bike. It was "purdy". I would take one of those.
