Penny test
My Dunlap front tire has only 7k miles and I noticed when I inserted a penny in the groove in the middle of the tire, Lincoln’s head was close to or out of the groove. There appears to be wear bars and those are almost even with the groove. That means the tire is about done. But can I safely get a few more miles, not long rides, just local. I have a new Avon Chrome coming, but I have an itch to ride. Gerald

I would stay away from any high speed or twisties.

Motorcycle tires are incredibly tough. The biggest loss with tread wear is loss of traction, as in rain and debris in corners. Like Robert said, go easy. You should be OK for some local rides until the new tire gets mounted..... Jim
