Remove the trim ring around the outside of the speaker the screws are under it.

That is how I thought it should be done only I can't get the trim ring off? Do I just try and pry under it with a screw driver to pop it up? I't extremely tight on there.
Thanks,
Greg

I just tried using 2 flat blade screw drivers so I could get a better bite on the trim ring and it just won't budge.

There are little plastic plugs to remove and the screws are under them. I as well as several other replaced them with Infinity 612M which you will find from $75-100. Mine have been in for 7 years with about 60k of mileage and still working great. Tomg

Hi Tom, I saw the plugs, how do I get under them to remove them?
Just pry them off. There was no bucket on mine, so the paper rotted off. I put my new ones in a foam speaker bucket I got from Amazon. They sound great. Rick

Hi Tom, Thanks for the plug suggestion. They came out easier then I thought they would. I went with Fusion MS-FR6021 200 watt speakers. The pair of them sound great. I just have to wait and see how they sound out on the road. The Sony's that were in there started crackling pretty bad at a volume of 26 and at that volume I couldn't hear them going down the road. Of course I'm just running the radio only for now. If I have to I will add an amp in the near future.
Thanks again,
Greg

Hi Rick, yah there isn't a bucket in mine either, I will see how it goes and more than likely I will look for 2 buckets on Amazon as well.
Those original speakers are the cheapest speakers that I ever saw! But I'm sure that TMS got a package deal and didn't realize how quickly they would deteriorate. Hope your selection works out fine for you. Tomg

Hi Rick, do you by any chance know the correct name for the speaker bucket? I have done some research and can't find anything under that name?
Thanks,
Greg
