Speedometer Cable
Hello, My trike has an '84 Yamaha Virago front end and I found a stock speedometer with the cable. My problem is that the cable is a bit too short to mount it to the front end without some major fabrication. My tank has a '70s style HD dash board and I would like to put the speedometer in it. My problem is that the stock cable is about 3 1/2 feet long and I need one about 5 feet. In the '60s and '70s when folks were puting front legs on Japanese bikes, without changing the rake, that were so long that they couldn't see over the tank. I think they wanted to be the coolest "Biker" in town, if they could just figure out what that looked like. Finding longer cables or cable extensions was easy. I have been looking and the youngsters I've been talking to have absolutely no consept of what I'm talking about and there is no picture in their computerized catalog. Anyone have any ideas where I can find an 18 inch cable extension or 5 foot cable or someone that still makes speedometer cables for antique bikes? Thanks for your time.

some yrs ago 5/7 I bought custom speedometer housing and cables from a company in Louisiana. But was thinking you can maybe buy stock housing and cable and install your ends.....sometimes you can grind the square end or crimp on the correct ends....also try dimecitycycles tampa florida they claim to have custom cables on there web site.

Try Flanders Company, http://www.flandersco.com/
Their website is difficult to navigate when it is working properly. It was not working properly just now. Just go directly to the contact page and give them a call and explain what you need.

Cables
I got tired of cables, magnets, etc, so I got a GPS speedometer and it works great. Just hook to 12 volts and go
