Left side or right side......
If you’re not the first owner then who knows. Indicator light for oil cooler?

Oops, yes that would be the let side. Previous bikes had the odometer reset there. But this use the command switch. Actually had the bike since January but only noticed this recently.
Pictures please, this will help, is this your dash?

Thanks for the diagram Jack. Upon further investigation it looks like previous owner got creative on their own. There’s nothing underneath the dash that doesn’t belong.
I bet it’s a controller or plug for heated clothing to custom lights. I thought maybe a light for a oil cooler but not on the console

I had a 15 Freewheeler I bought new and a 17 and now a 21, none of them had any holes in them from the factory

IMO it is pretty sad that someone ruined that dash, even if they were to want, say a plug in for heated gear, they could have run a wire under the tank having the wire exit @ the front of the seat
That dash console retails for $221.99 Ouch
Apparently the previous owner didnt have the decency to leave what ever occupied that hole. Plastic plugs can been found at the hardware store. Even chrome ones with some searching.A powerport can be added - even a dummy one. I would not leave it open, bugs, mice, and water seek out holes like that.
looks like the trip, mileage reset. that's where it is on my 04 roadking?
