So far we dodged the bullet at home, talked to our neighbor tonight and we didn't have any power outages at all. 40 - 50 mph winds but no damage so far but it's been raining for 2 days now and no flooding in our area. If everything stays the same tomorrow we will be heading to Florida on Friday and arrive Saturday afternoon.
Jack, good prep and God bless you have good fortune as it heads your way.
Thank you,Good for you and your wife, stay safe:clapping:

As Connie and I sit here in the hinterland of far NW FL breathing a sigh of relief, it turns out we're late to the party. If we had been on the ball and known you 2 were going to be in Montgomery we'd have come up and taken you to dinner. Lesson learned!
Prayers for your safe travels home and prayers for everyone else in the path of destruction from Ian.

My son just texted me. They live in Flagger Beach North of Daytona on the East coast. Just lost power. They are all set to see Ian pass by them. Stay safe all!

St Augustine and Jax Beach taking a bad pounding, flooded streets is not uncommon in St Augustine
We almost bought a house in Jax Beach in 1997 to have my wife close to her job @ the Mayo Clinic, I am glad we did not

I'm just happy to see posts from some of our Florida friends today...... Jim

Stay safe Jack.

Our friends house suffered the loss of both vinyl fences, screens on the lani and some missing roof shingles. They are flying down Sunday or Monday to see how bad it is.

We are very lucky so far, the bad part of the storm has not hit us yet, tho we are 28 miles inland from the coast, BUT the St Johns river is about a mile and a half from our house
What a lot of folks dont know is that river flows North from Sanford Fl, outside of Orlando, empties into the Ocean @ Mayport Fl ( a double whammy)
Downtown Jax floods very easily as does St Augustine, the downtown area along A1A is flooded right now ( the sea wall is maybe 8 foot above Matanza bay)

Hoping Everyone Stays Safe.

Looks like the Carolinas are next, facing a Cat 1 storm, tons of costal flooding and heavy rains/ winds

I hope Ted (Gorilla) is ok, he hasn't checked in from Key Largo.

My yard is cleaned up, the sun is trying to come out
We are blessed, the storm here was minimal
I am praying for South Florida and for those in the Carolinas
Florida will work hard to recover with prayers and the help from all over the country
Watch out for scammers, they are already out and about

Prayers for all stay safe

Made it home over the weekend, a little yard cleanup was all that was needed thank goodness. Watching the scenes from around the Ft. Meyers area and Sarasota were hard to fathom as the original track was headed right for our Tampa Bay area.
