Shadow Aero with Motor Trike
Hello!
I'm considering purchase of a beautiful, first affordable trike, a Honda Aero 750 with a Motor Trike Kit installed. I'm 6'0" tall, 30-1/2" inseam and 350 lbs. wet. What are the limitations with this trike setup? Are my legs too long? Body / mass too large? Any and all comments welcomed.:)
Note: My current ride is a Honda Helix scooter (cn250 / 244cc) with 8" Tow-Pac installed. It's fairly easy to get up to 60 mph, though 65 mph is certainly a stretch.

Re: Shadow Aero with Motor Trike
John my first thought would be that it would be under powered.A lot depends on what kind of riding you want to do.If you are happy with the Helix then maybe the 750 would work.If you can test ride the 750 that should answer some of your questions.Good Luck/RIDE SAFE
Re: Shadow Aero with Motor Trike
I agree with Lucky. Only you can tell if it will work for you. You are getting a bigger machine should ride better. The preformance is going to depend on where you ride and what you expect/need. Hope you can test ride it before you have to decide. Good luck
Re: Shadow Aero with Motor Trike
UNDER POWERED for your stature. (imho)
Re: Shadow Aero with Motor Trike
Thanks, fellas for your comments. Do you think I need perhaps a 1,000 to 1,300 cc? What might I hope to locate in the $8 to $10,000 range?
John
Re: Shadow Aero with Motor Trike
that range is a little low unless you come across a real deal. the vtx 1300 honda is probably your best choice in that cc range. good luck
Re: Shadow Aero with Motor Trike
after thought are you interested in a vw trike? they can be has in your price range. go on e-bay or craigs list and search

SJ,
Also try cycletrader! That's where I found my Roadhawk V-Cycle last year.
Re: Shadow Aero with Motor Trike
In addition to my 82 GW trike, I have a 09 Shadow Aero 750 trike. Have had no issues going 2-up with GF and towing a 110 lb Lil Clipper trailer with another 100 lbs of cargo. That's roughly 550 lbs total.

Yup, Gorilla, I and others are looking for a real deal. So, I have my feelers out for VT1100 to VTX1300. Thanks for your good advice.

Re: Shadow Aero with Motor Trike
I saw a really nice-looking VTX1300 trike at Turn1 Motorsports in northern Indiana. It's been several months ago. But they know their trikes and put some fine ones together. Might be worth some investigating!

Re: Shadow Aero with Motor Trike
i ride two up on my 06 aero with insta trike, no complaints, and they handle much better than a solid rear axle. i saw a guy hit a 6"curb with one of his wheels the bike stayed straight as an arrow, that sold me on mine...
