I received my rake kit from Cut N' Shoot on Thursday. I set today aside to do the conversion, and it took about six hours, taking my time, including a trip to Lowe's for some PVC to set the lower bearing, and to Harbor Freight for a bearing race driver set.
After a test ride, I can say that steering effort is reduced by at least half. I really had to adjust my steering technique, as I was used to the extra effort of the stock configuration, which, when applied to the Tri Glide post-conversion, would have put me in the weeds :blush:. I also caught myself NOT thinking about steering effort, as before, and just enjoying the ride. Result!
Overall, color me impressed.
