i was looking at them myself, which one did you buy ? I'm short armed and was wondering if the seat that puts you 2" closer would be for me thanks
I have the reduced reach Mustang. Like it a lot. It eliminated the need for new handle bars. Bonus feature is it gives the passenger more room.

FWIW HD Short Reach Touring Seat is PN 52000131 but Mustang prolly better. I found the HD seat too narrow.

Visual Guy
After a 2000 mile round trip on my Free with stock seat, my butt told me something needs to be done. I am a visual guy, so despite your good reviews, I need to see the difference. So I made this comparison photo. Looks like either of the aftermarket seats let you sit back a bit, and look more comfortable. Price wise, the Tallboy is cheaper than the ultimate by a good bit. I will try the tallboy if my dealer has a demo.

FW Seat
I just installed a Sundowner seat on mine and what a world of difference!! The seat is wider, much more comfortable and seems to have more back support.

Originally I bought a Sundowner seat and it was much better than the stock FW seat but still not good enough. I then had a local auto shop insert a gel pad in the Sundowner. Again, better but still not what I needed. As soon as Mustang came out with a seat for the FW I bought one based on past experience with their seat. I had an Ultimate seat on my Victory Cross Country Tour and it was a great seat but Mustang came out first and that is what I went with and think it was a good choice.

Does the mustang set you back farther back on the trike?

I bought the standard Mustang FW seat (not the reduced reach they offer) and I believe it is the same position as the OEM Seat.

Thanks for the reply. I have a tall boy seat on mine and would like more leg room.

passenger room
Sunman's original post also asked about room for the misses on the back :-)
Has anyone found a seat that gives maximum room for the passenger? We went from a 2014 Tri Glide to a 2017 Freewheeler and my wife has lost some room in the seating area due to the trunk opening up instead of down.
Just looking for some possibilities (with the exception of buying another TriGlide):D

I put on the tall boy seat but I had my stock rider backrest remade to sit back farther so that the wife and I are more comfortable!!

Corbin. Pricey but worth every penny, and totally customizable. Will seem very firm at first but breaks in beautifully. I was sold running them on my '90 Sporty (one of the last hardmount engines), and wasn't disappointed when I slapped one on my Freewheeler.
OK, after only 2 days I can say the FLRT seat is crap. From what I can see in the Harley parts book there is only one seat for the FLRT and it is a Sundowner. It only has an 11" Passenger width. I know the FLRT is just out but has anyone come up with a different seat option for the FLRT? This could be a bad deal for my wife (and therefore me).

Any touring seat fits, I have a Roadking Reach seat on mine

Can you post a picture of your bike with the seat on it? did it fit with stock passenger backrest?
Thanks.
