CV boots drive shaft
Newbie here in Yuma,AZ Just got my 2004 Goldwing CSC trike kit. NOW I noticed that the CV boot on driveshaft by the rear end is half torn away. How serious is this? Should I stop riding it? How much do you think this would cost to get replaced? Is this dangerous?

If you ride in the rain, Or gravel , And dust it will do more damage ....You can ride it but i would get it repaired as soon as possible....The grease in the boot will collect all kinds of nasty stuff ....

The boots keep the grease in and gunk out
Typically when a joint goes bad from no grease and too much gunk in it they will start to click, after that bad Ju Ju get it looked at soon;)

Dick,
I'm at the CSC factory doing another week of training and Will, CSCs lead tech, showed me your email and the pictures you sent of your torn boot. The boot that is on your trike is not the correct boot and not even close to fitting properly.
It appears to possibly be an over-sized VW boot someone installed rather than the correct boot. It is my understanding that Will has the proper boot coming to you. Please let us know if that corrects your problem and if we can help you in any way.
