Re: Banditmans Voyager Trike
Have absolutely no experience with Voyager, but ran a SUPERBRACE on my 90wing/motortrike and was very happy with it. RIDE SAFE
Re: Banditmans Voyager Trike
If your conversion happens to be a California Sidecar they make an auxiliary gas tank that mounts underneath the body and doesnt use trunk space. They aren't too bad to install with the right tools. They are gravity feed so no pumps. If that works for you let me know and I'll send you more info.

Do you have a rake kit on your Voyager? Who made your kit? If you have a rake kit and have roller bearing (Kawi Voyager's came with ball bearings) probably the bearings are not torqued tight enough. Kawi's trees call for 22 ft/lbs torque but with roller bearings that is way to light. Mine are torqued to 40 ft/lbs and could go a couple more it needed. Before I re-torqued mine any little pot hole would just about jerk the bars out of your hands. It is a lot more stable now. :Dorag: :Dorag: :Dorag::Dorag:

To answer [COLOR=#000000]Gene Wright's question the conversion kit I have is a Motortrike Champion kit.
As to the roller bearing versus ball, can you provide some additional info, specifically Part Number, manufacturer, torque spec's suggested source of supply to obtain the parts? The information as is, is most interesting, but I would need a little more to completely research and make an informed decision.
Thanks Gene, and the rest for your replies so far.

Re: Banditmans Voyager Trike
According to the Motortrike website, their rake kit uses a combination of bearings. They use a tapered roller bearing in the bottom bearing and the stock ball bearing in the top bearing. and they use the stock Kawi torque spec of 22 ft-lbs. I have a Champion trike kit but I used a California Sidecar rake kit because it has more rake to it. The bearings that came with the kit are from "All Balls Bearing" company. If you look at their website you will see that almost all Japanese bikes use the same bearing for the steering head.

Thanks for the info Ray. I see you are in Santee, not to far from where I am, maybe we should get together sometime and talk trikes. I am in the Miramar area.

Folks any recommendations on a front tire, right now I am running the Metzler, which is the one on the bike as a 2 wheeler, so it is about time to change out, but since the front tire is now primarily wearing in the middle now looking for any recommendations, for a change up. Ray, what do you think bro?

Metzler is one of the best. All tires are gonna wear only in the middle. Probaly no more than 2" wide. No lean, no wear. Do a tire search on this site. ( Rear tires on the front, reverse direction.) You'll find many hours of reading. Avon has come out recently with a trike specific front tire. I went with the BT45 in reverse. Seems to be the most popular. Rear tires have thicker tread.

Thanks Cavie, I will check it out.
