Previous service in the military is not a prerequisite for the position of president. As of the [/FONT][COLOR=#0000FF][FONT=Georgia]2016 presidential election[/FONT][/COLOR][COLOR=#0000FF][FONT=Georgia][update][/FONT][/COLOR][FONT=Georgia], no member of the [/FONT][COLOR=#0000FF][FONT=Georgia]U.S. Marine Corps [/FONT][/COLOR][FONT=Georgia]or [/FONT][COLOR=#0000FF][FONT=Georgia]U.S. Coast Guard [/FONT][/COLOR][FONT=Georgia]has yet been elected President.
