Hello from Salem, VA
My wife and I just got back from our first long ride on my new 2019 Tri Glide. My wife named her "Ruby" due to color of course. Anyway I'm 63 years old, been riding since I was 14 or 15. I have owned probably 50 or more bikes during my lifetime. I collect, restore and resell antique motorcycles from time to time. Current collection includes a 1947 Indian Chief and just sold a '71 CB 750 and a '79 Triumph Bonneville to the New England Motorcycle Museum. The Tri Glide is not my first Trike. We had a 2006 Goldwing with a California Sidecar conversion...loved it, but sold it a couple of years ago when I bought a 2014 Indian Chief Vintage. Got rid of the Vintage last summer for a Scout, then had a bad fall in September. Got back into a trike primarily because my leg refused to heal correctly and my wife can't ride for long on the Scout. We absolutely love the new Tri Glide. Part of our first trip included nearly 80 miles of basically stop and go traffic in 95+ degree heat. We sweated like pigs but the bike did great. Love the new liquid-cooled M8 motor. My primary reason for joining this forum is to identify trike owners in central and southwest Virginia. Hope to learn lots and contribute when I can. Thanks, Mark Clark, Salem, VA

Welcome to the "Herd". If you want to meet some of the folks on the board, there is a gathering in Maggie Valley, NC next month from 2-6 Sept, 2019. I grew up just a little west of you in a small mining town of Tazewell, Va. From Tazewell you can ride the "Back of the Dragon" Designated by the state of Virginia Which is US-16 From Tazewell to Marion, VA.
Will be back there in Sept for my high school reunion.

I've done a lot of work down in Tazewell over the years and have ridden the Back of the Dragon several times. I grew up in Pembroke, near Pearisburg. Thanks for the heads up on the Maggie Valley gathering.
