I have the summer bamboo , That stuff dies out the first cold snap in early November...
Only to come back stronger next spring, And once it gets into the lawn it grows inches a day up to 10 feet....Its a nuisance...To kill it in the lawn i cut it at ground level..And in the center of the hollow stalk i squirt some bleach in it to kill it and keep the rhizomes from spreading........... .....

A friend snuck the plant here before he moved to NC. Said it was to remember him by. 6 yrs later and ya see what I’ve got. The mower takes care of the new spring shoots. But that stuff grows everyware into everything. As long as it stays out of the septic , I’ll deal with it for now.
