Close call with tornado
Happened about a year ago.
Was at my office, TVs started their warning alerts for tornado. Didn't appear to be a problem in our immediate area per radar. Raining hard, lots of lightning, sky looked greenish. Then it seemed to let up.
My receptionist looked out the window to the east of our office and spotted the tornado. She ran outside and snapped this pic on her phone. The funnel was about 1/2 mile away from us.
Thankfully, no damage, but it did give us all shivers. There was damage down the road to some farms.

Boggles the mind how humans will risk danger to get a picture (Present company included) ... My mother when I was young chased a big bear with her camera. All was well, until the bear decided he'd ran enough, turned and stood up and Growled (I think bears growl). She was not hurt, but she got the pic ... and clean undies ... :D

I lived in Florida for 30 years and when they said a hurricane was coming, all items that would blow away came inside, the trike was filed with fuel and I had a supply of drinking water and canned food just in case. Also had a battery radio, camping lanterns and a small charcoal grill. The joy of hurricane season on the Gulf and one year there was a tropical storm that refused to go away and wanted to be the final hurricane of the season and that was Zeta in December 2005 and it gave up in January 2006.
