Rat's nest in air box
It's been a while since I've seen a "rats nest" in an air box. In most cases it's really from a mouse and from northern bikes that come here for service. In this case, since this Wing will now live in Florida, he is choosing to not put screens across the openings of his air-ducts.
Apparently he's not only feeding them, but providing them a shelter too :)

Here one from earlier this year.

He requested screens be installed. The screen used is from the bottom of his old air-filter. It is cut to fit, held in place with a nylon tie, and the tie and edges are secured with black duct tape.

Hey Gregg,
That picture was almost exactly how my bike's filter looked like the last time I replaced the filter.. (one yr ago/ish)... I couldn't believe it...Yes folks Gregg is correct here, always protect your bike during the storage season...Since seeing that, it totally turned me into a believer, that mice do indeed get into your air filter and make a home for them selves..
I always (now) place moth balls around, and in bike during the storage season.... This season I placed mice traps under bike (I know some of you will "cringe" when I mentioned that), but it's my bike or them, this yr. it's "them! [I just went out yesterday, and replaced the bait, on the traps] :clapping::clapping: But for any of you animal's rights folks out there, relax, please nothing yet, has been trapped...soooooooooooooooooo far.....

I ride year around here Ronnie so don't need the protection on the trike but I have been restoring a '74 Charger and do have dryer sheets stuffed all over the place. Squirrels and mice love to eat on wires!!! The dryer sheets keep them far away !! :xszpv: :xszpv:
